The long-awaited return of the Snowball Fight game mode is nearly upon us. Set to return on December 11th, the beloved mode will see an extra tweaking of love ahead of its release. Moreover, the end of the 2025 season will also see an End of Year Event filled with winter goodies.

Snowball Fight Returns after Long Hiatus

Snowball Fight was a 5v5 deathmatch released back in December 2020. The game mode would only make an appearance that year and has since become one of the most requested modes from the community to make a return.

Themed around the often celebrated tradition of snowball tossing, it takes a unique VALORANT twist of launching these snowy projectiles via Brimstone’s Incendiary launcher on the map Icebox.

Players would be allowed to select any agent they desired, but they would all receive the same equipment, one deadly snowball launcher. Infinite ammo, but you could only fire a single shot at a time. ‘Gifts’ would appear around the map to bolster one’s firepower, and included such powerups as ‘Rapid Fire’, ‘Ricochet’, and ‘Skates’.

In 2025, Snowball Fight returns, familiar, but not the same as before. All maps now will be unlocked, so these be ready to traverse different maps with an ever-changing arena. Moreover, the ‘Skates’ powerup is now a permanent addition to every player’s arsenal, making for more exciting high-pursuit situations. An unexplained ‘Squad Boost’ will also be made available in this game mode.

End of Year Event Pass

An event pass to cap out the year will arrive alongside, offering new cards and sprays for players to collect. Set to run from the 11th to January 6th, there’s a lot to look forward to this Holiday season on VALORANT.

Expect all this and more as the new Holiday patch launches tomorrow, December 11.
