S1mple and New BC.Game Roster Win First LAN Title
BC.Game Esports just picked up the first LAN trophy of its new era at the Elisa Esports BreakOut Series 1, and it came against tough opposition. The Tier 2 event brought together eight teams, and the revamped roster steamrolled over their competition, closing out the run with five straight wins and a clean 2-0 finals sweep.
A statement in the finals
BC.Game beat ENCE 2-0 in the grand final, taking Mirage 13-11 and closing things out on Nuke 16-13. It wasn't a walkover; ENCE pushed back hard on both maps, but BC.Game had an answer every time.
The win locked in $8,800 in prize money and, more importantly, gave the org its first-ever offline title in Counter-Strike.
s1mple ends a long LAN drought
For Oleksandr "s1mple" Kostyliev, this one hits different. The Ukrainian legend hadn't lifted a LAN trophy since 2022, and after leaving Natus Vincere and drifting through a rebuilding project, doubts about his next chapter were understandable.
Winning it all in his new team's very first tournament together is exactly the kind of statement that quiets that noise, at least for now.
New faces, instant chemistry
This wasn't just s1mple's moment either. It was also the debut for two brand new additions: Danish in-game leader Emil "Magisk" Reif and Mongolian rifler Ayush "mzinho" Batbold, both brought in for the second half of the year to round out the lineup.
Magisk steps in with a resume full of Major titles from his Astralis and Vitality days, giving the squad real leadership experience on top of raw firepower.
Mzinho, meanwhile, arrives as a teenager with something to prove, fresh off his run with The MongolZ, and he clearly didn't look out of place going five-for-five in his first tournament.
One trophy down, plenty to prove
Five wins in a row against Tier 2 LAN competition is not impressive, but for a team this fresh, it's a strong early signal that the pieces actually fit. It served as a testing ground and BC.Game passed the test in the most emphatic way possible: with a trophy.
Beating a squad as consistent as ENCE, in front of a live crowd, on foreign soil no less, is a different beast than grinding out online qualifiers.
The bigger question now is whether this chemistry travels to tougher fields, but for one weekend, everything clicked for the new-look roster.
If BC.Game can carry even a fraction of this form into bigger events later in the year, the rest of the Tier 2 scene should probably start paying closer attention.
