The Riyadh Masters 2023 is currently underway. As most teams brought in their full rosters to secure their fair share of the $ 15 000 000 USD million prize pool, some had a different approach to the tournament. Debuting a new roster and playing with a standin’, Quest Esports and OG tested the waters for The Riyadh Masters 2023. However, as the eyes fixated on both teams, Quest Esports successfully debuted their new roster, but OG, on the other hand, failed to find a solid footing during the first day. Moreover, Quest Esports demolished OG in their first encounter, taking a quick clean sweep whilst OG discombobulated, figuring out what went wrong.

Quest’s matches

Quest Esports managed to secure a top-four finish at The Bali Major. The team, however, went through a roster change, swapping their offlaner because of contractual issues before the journey at The Riyadh Masters. The team debuts Abdimalik "Malik" Sailau as the new offlaner at The Riyadh Masters 2023.

Faith would’ve it the two teams with different approaches, OG and Quest Esports, would go up against each other in their Riyadh Masters opening series. In both games, Malik played offlane Dark Seer marvellously, shutting down the safelaner of OG. Quest again took another clean sweep against 9Pandas as Malik played offlane Dark Seer and Mars, respectively, in the series. After their series against 9Pandas, Quest Esports took another series against Team Secret. Quest dominated the series with Malik’s fantastic Primal Best performance in game one and TA2000 sensational Faceless Void performance in game two.

However, Xtreme Gaming halted Quest Esports’ winning streak, taking the 2-0 series against them, handing Quest their first loss for The Riyadh Masters 2023. Quest had only one match remaining, and they will face Beastcoast. With three wins, no draws, and one loss, Quest is the top seed in Group B for the Play-In stage.

OG’s Matches

On the other hand, unlike Quest Esports, OG’s debut at The Riyadh Masters 2023 did not go as planned. After losing their opening series against Quest Esports, OG lost their following series to Beastcoast. Even with Ceb as standin, OG took some time to find its footing. However, they found it in their third series. OG tied the series against 9 Pandas. They finally found their only win of the day against Team Secret, taking the clean sweep. With a score of one win, one tie and two losses, OG is currently in fourth place in Group B. Their upcoming match is up against Xtreme Gaming.
