Nouns lately have been on the rise. The team overtook TSM in the NA region to secure their ticket to The Bali Major. Although Nouns showed a solid performance at The Bali Major, unfortunately, it wasn’t enough to earn them a seat in the playoffs. The team is composed of promising talents and veterans from the North American region.

Fortunately, the post-Bali Major roster shuffle gave Nouns a favourable opportunity to grab one of the rising talents from the South American region to their roster. Recently, Héctor "K1" Rodríguez parted ways with his team, Beastcoast. The player announced he is looking for a team to join and is willing to relocate via Twitter. Nouns seize the opportunity perfectly, adding the promising South American safelaner to their roster before The International 2023 qualifiers.

Rise of K1

K1 earns the world’s attention during the Beastcoast run at The International 2022. At the prestigious tournament, K1 defied the expectations set against South American teams, helping Beastcoast secure a 7th-8th place finish. In the 2022-2023 DPC Season, he helped Beastcoast secure top-seed finishes in The Winter and Spring Tour. However, the player took a break after Dreamleague Season 19, siding his mental health. However, Beastcoast found themselves a new safelaner in the player’s absence. As the player was ready to step into the pro scene again, the player and the team decided to part ways. K1 played a massive part in Beastcoast’s rise to success.

Changes in Nouns

Joining Nouns will be K1’s first time outside his South American region. Adding a renowned player to the team also comes with some changes. Firstly,  the team support player Jacob “Husky” Fifik parted ways with Nouns. Moreover, K1 will be the new safelaner for the team as the team’s former safelaner Luke “Yamsun” Wang, will be changing his role as the support. Thus the new roster for Nouns will be as follows :

  • Héctor "K1" Rodríguez - Safelane
  • Nicolas "Gunnar" Lopez - Midlane
  • David "Moo" Hull            - Offlane
  • Rodrigo "Lelis" Santos   - Soft Support
  • Luke "Yamsun" Wang    - Hard Support

Nouns had already shown their potential in the Summer Tour; adding K1 would give them an advantage in the upcoming Ti qualifiers. With K1’s help, Nouns could be the new dominant team in the North American region, challenging the likes of TSM and Shopify Rebellion. Moreover, now the team have more chance to secure their ticket to The International 2023 through the qualifiers to represent their region.
