The Riyadh Masters is approaching, and teams are trying to get their fair share of the $15 000 000 million USD prize pool with all their full power before The International 2023. However, OG had slightly different plans. Although they have not made an official announcement regarding the status yet, it seems Sébastien "Ceb" Debs, the two times back-to-back Ti champion, will be returning as a standin for OG at The Riyadh Masters 2023. The leak got noticed by fans on The Riyadh Masters 2023 tournament page on Liquidpedia. Ceb will be returning to play as a standin support for the team.

Recent Track Records

The news comes as a surprise positive news for OG fans. Even though as a standin, Ceb has proven he brings positive impact and results for the team. Ceb first came out of retirement to standin for OG at The Stockholm Major.

Not only he proved he is a reliable support for OG during their ESL One Stockholm Major run, but with Ceb’s help, OG came out victorious as The Stockholm Major champions. Moreover, his time at The Stockholm Major reignites Ceb’s passion for the game, leading to the formation of Old G. Ceb also made Windranger the meta-support hero during the Major.

Disappointments, Hopes and New Possibilities?

Although Ceb’s return has hype OG fans, OG had been going through mixed results. Moreover, the team is trying to decipher what works best for them. They had switched support players multiple times throughout this season, mainly in the Position 5 role. Their recent support player, Evgenii “Chu” Semenovich, return to his original role as the team’s assistant coach after the Summer Tour. With their other player, Mikhail "Misha" Agatov, back to being the coach of OG, the support role for the team has been vacant.

On the other hand, OG’s record for the Summer Tour has not been fantastic either. The team barely managed to get sufficient points to stay away from the tiebreakers series. Moreover, Ceb’s Old G has also gone through some tough times at Division II. Despite overcoming their challenges, it’s uncertain whether Old G will stick around for another DPC season. Thus, returning to OG would hopefully help Ceb reignite his passion again. Even though Ceb is currently going to standin for OG, it could also be a permanent replacement, as the team is looking for suitable players for their vacant position ahead of The International 2023 qualifiers. Only time has the answers to what lies on the horizon for Ceb and OG.
