PGL released their schedule for Dota 2 tournaments in 2027. The company solidified their commitment to Valve's flagship MOBA, with four-million dollar tournaments in their latest announcement.

PGL is the first organization to promise tier one events in the next two years. The early announcement is likely to ensure other companies don't clash with their schedule.

Dota 2's future is looking bright!

Heroic wins PGL Wallachia Season 2

When the DPC was cancelled, Dota 2 fans and players were holding their breath to see how the scene would develop. Without stability from Valve, can the scene sustain itself? or will professional competition wither out and disappear?

Luckily it seems like multiple organizations have taken it upon themselves to not only maintain the professional scene, but grow it as well. Fissure, ESL, Blast, and PGL have hosted multiple million dollar events. Featuring online and offline events with the best teams of the world.

Between them, there had 10 tier-1 events in 2024, 13 in 2025, and now PGL announced at least four in 2027.

The announcement shared the dates of the events, with two in March and May, and another two October and November. PGL didn't share if the tournaments are part of their online Wallachia series or if there will be any offline events included.

Either way, PGL is going in big for Dota 2 and we here at Strafe are thrilled to see our favorite MOBA continue to get the love and attention it deserves. It's looking like Dota 2 will have a long and bright future ahead of it. Now let's just hope we get a patch soon.
