Ubisoft has officially revealed the next season of Rainbow Six Siege, and it’s bringing exciting changes to the game. Dubbed Operation Prep Phase, Year 10 Season 1 introduces a new attacker, Rauora, along with innovative gameplay mechanics and new content.

The announcement came just before the Six Invitational 2025 Grand Final, where Ubisoft also teased the future of the franchise with Rainbow Six Siege X. While fans will have to wait for the full reveal of Siege X in March, Operation Prep Phase is arriving much sooner, and players can even try it out next week.

Operation Prep Phase: A New Season Begins

Ubisoft’s announcement at the MGM Music Hall in Boston confirmed the name of Rainbow Six Siege's latest season: Operation Prep Phase. While details remain scarce, this season will set the stage for what’s next in Siege’s evolution.

One major highlight of Operation Prep Phase is the introduction of new Celebration Packs, which will feature items from previous in-game events. This move aims to give players another chance to obtain limited-time cosmetics they may have missed.

But the biggest addition is undoubtedly the introduction of Rauora, a brand-new attacker with a unique gadget that could shift the way attackers take control of bomb sites.

Meet Rauora: Rainbow Six Siege’s New Attacker

Rauora is a two-speed, two-health attacker equipped with the D.O.M. Launcher, a device that allows her to deploy temporary gates over doors. These gates can be triggered by both attackers and defenders, providing a new layer of tactical depth.

To deploy a gate, Rauora must shoot her D.O.M. Launcher at a doorway. The barricade can be activated by shooting a target at the top of the device, opening or closing faster for attackers than for defenders. This gives the attacking side more control over site structure, potentially making plants safer.

While the D.O.M. Launcher can be a powerful tool, it has counters. Jäger’s ADS can intercept the projectile, and explosives can destroy the gate entirely. Additionally, Fuze and Ying can place their gadgets on these gates, adding more strategic options.

Along with her unique gadget, Rauora also brings a new secondary weapon, the MK2 Machine Pistol, adding more variety to Siege’s arsenal.

Her primary weapon choices include:

  • M17 Marksman Rifle
  • M249 Light Machine Gun

For utility, she can carry either Smoke Grenades or Breaching Charges, making her a versatile addition to the attacking lineup.

Ubisoft Teases Rainbow Six Siege X

While Operation Prep Phase is exciting, the biggest surprise of the event was Ubisoft’s teaser for Rainbow Six Siege X, a major step forward for the franchise.

Fans were thrilled by the teaser, but Ubisoft kept details under wraps. The full reveal will take place on March 13, 2025, in Atlanta, Georgia, with a live broadcast. Players who want to attend the event can purchase tickets for $10 USD, and a VIP ticket giveaway is available for residents of the United States and Canada.

Additionally, Ubisoft has announced a Limited Drop event, where players can claim a unique in-game skin through the Marketplace for the next 48 hours.
