NAVI crushed GamerLegion in the IEM Atlanta 2026 Grand Final to secure their second Counter-Strike trophy of the year. With just a couple of weeks remaining until the Cologne Major, the victory helps the team build valuable momentum and experience ahead of one of the year's premier CS2 events.

NAVI has been in strong form all season, with top finishes at BLAST Open Rotterdam and BLAST Rivals Fort Worth, in addition to their triumph at ESL Pro League Season 23. This, combined with their top position in the VRS standings, made them heavy favorites heading into the matchup.

Here's how the Grand Final unfolded.

NAVI Sweeps GamerLegion 3-0 to Secure IEM Atlanta 2026

The match kicked off with NAVI on the front foot. The first map, Mirage, saw them follow up a slow start with 11 consecutive round wins, closing out the map at 13‑3. REZ was the sole standout for GamerLegion on this map, while b1t, iM, and w0nderful stole the show for NAVI.

GamerLegion picked up the pace on Anubis. A successful T‑side half helped them level the score by halftime and take a 9-7 lead. However, NAVI won the next six rounds to clinch the map 13‑9. The map saw another standout performance from w0nderful.

The final showdown took place on Nuke, where both teams went head‑to‑head throughout the match. GamerLegion enjoyed a strong 4–0 start, but NAVI fought back to end the half on equal terms.

The second half saw a six‑round win streak from GamerLegion, with hypex delivering a confident performance on the AWP that kept his team's hopes alive. GamerLegion reached match point with a five-round lead, but the 2024 Major winners won the next five rounds to force overtime.

OT flipped the script. Even though GamerLegion won the first OT round, NAVI yet again mounted a comeback, securing four consecutive rounds to emerge as champions of IEM Atlanta 2026.

NAVI Wins Second Trophy of 2026, Ending Vitality’s Title Streak

With their victory in Atlanta, NAVI not only secured their second trophy of the year but also defeated Team Vitality on their path to the Grand Final. This ended Vitality's streak of five consecutive trophy wins, a record they had hoped to extend before heading into the Cologne Major.

Vitality had been in incredible form throughout 2026, losing only three matches all year before facing NAVI in the quarterfinals. Meanwhile, NAVI carried a poor historical record against Vitality, having lost all nine of their previous encounters. However, NAVI finally added their first win to the tally with a commanding 2-1 victory on Friday. Before this, they had won only one map against Vitality out of 22.

NAVI and Vitality have developed a compelling rivalry this season as the top two teams in the VRS standings. In fact, Vitality has been NAVI's biggest hurdle in several tournaments this year, including the BLAST Open Rotterdam and BLAST Rivals Fort Worth, where they met in the Grand Finals, as well as the IEM Rio, where they faced off in the quarterfinals. Notably, Vitality missed ESL Pro League Season 23, the only tournament NAVI had won this season before Atlanta.

Now, with their quarterfinal victory over Vitality and their Grand Final triumph, NAVI has finally ended the world #1 team's trophy streak and won a tournament featuring Vitality as a participant for the first time since IEM Rio 2024.

w0nderful Claims First MVP Award at IEM Atlanta 2026

Ukrainian AWPer Ihor "w0nderful" Zhdanov has won his first‑ever Counter‑Strike MVP award at IEM Atlanta 2026. The 21‑year‑old is currently in his third year with the team, a period during which he has now won seven trophies, including the 2024 Copenhagen Major.

While he has played a crucial role in all of those title victories, the 3‑0 sweep against GamerLegion in Atlanta saw him stand out as the top performer. In fact, w0nderful delivered consistently strong performances throughout IEM Atlanta 2026, helping NAVI secure crucial wins over Vitality, BetBoom, and GamerLegion.

In the Grand Final against GamerLegion, w0nderful posted 15‑8 on Mirage, 24‑12 on Anubis, and 21‑14 on Nuke. The series ended with the AWPer leading the scoreboard with a 60‑34 KD.

The top CS2 teams found themselves at a crossroads in May, as PGL Astana and IEM Atlanta were scheduled to take place consecutively. Several top teams opted for the former, while top‑ranked VRS teams like Vitality and NAVI chose the latter. PGL Astana concluded earlier today with Team Spirit lifting their first trophy of the year.
