NAVI Shock Team Vitality and End Historic Streak in IEM Atlanta 2026

The CS2 dragon has been slain. At the IEM Altanta 2026 Quarterfinals, Natus Vincere shocked Team Vitality — and the entire CS scene, really — by taking down one of the most dominant squads in the history of the game.

The Dragon Comes Crashing Down

It seems you really can't win 'em all. Coming into their Quarterfinal clash against NAVI, Vitality had won their last five consecutive tournaments. It simply doesn't get more dominant than that.

And yet, NAVI were not about to bow down. Instead, the Ukranian org took down the soaring dragon in three maps — Dust2 (11-13), Anubis (13-11), Inferno (13-3) — including a proper whooping on the final map that seemed to leave the Kings of CS2 stunned and out of answers.

NAVI may well be a top-tier team, but nobody had them moving on to the Semifinals of IEM Atlanta 2026 when paired against Vitality. To illustrate how much of a shock this was, just know that this is the first time Vitality finishes an event outside the top 4 at an event since January of 2025.

In fact, the list of Team Vitality streaks broken with this loss includes:

  • 27 consecutive playoffs map wins in all competitions
  • 15 consecutive map wins against NAVI
  • 5 consecutive 1st place finishes
  • 21 consecutive top-4 finishes

w0nderful Catches Fire

With ZywOo on the server, all eyes naturally drift to the French sharpshooter. This time, though, NAVI's w0nderful turned out to be the sniper you had to keep your sights on.

Over the course of the two final maps of the series (both of which NAVI won), w0nderful posted a comined K-D of 46-15. This stat is impressive in its own right, but it's downright spectacular when you have arguably the greatest CS player of all time on the opposing AWP.

The question for NAVI now is: can they keep up this run of form? Their Semifinal match up next will be against BetBoom, a team that also managed to take down Vitality just days ago.

Between the remaining contestants of NAVI, BetBoom, Legacy, and GamerLegion, NAVI are clearly a cut above. With Vitality out of the way, the IEM Atlanta 2026 trophy is theirs for the taking.
