Day 3 of Worlds 2024 Swiss Stage featured the teams with a 2-0 record. Starting with classic LCK - LPL match up with Dplus KIA and LNG Esports. The following game was the LCK Summer Playoffs rematch, featuring Gen.G and Hanwha Life Esports, two title contenders.

With Worlds 2024 Quarterfinals spots on the line, the four teams played their hearts out. Let’s see how the games went.

Dplus KIA vs. LNG Esports

From nearly missing Worlds 2024 completely to being one of the best performers at the event, LNG Esports’ Lee “Scout” Ye-chan has been a force to be reckoned with. LNG as a team has been equally dominant, and look like one of the best teams at the event.

Coming in hot after their victory over Bilibili Gaming, LNG took Game 1 by storm, taking down Dplus KIA in 36 mins, looking like the better team. The second game, albeit closer, had the same conclusion. A big deciding factor was DK's unorthodox drafting choices that did not yield significant results.

The LCK team wasn’t a pushover, but LNG just made it look extremely comfortable, winning the series 2-0 and becoming the first team to qualify for the Worlds 2024 Quarterfinals.

Hanwha Life Esports vs. Gen.G

The teams are no strangers to one another, and for the most parts, Gen.G has been the victor when the two face each other, except during LCK 2024 Summer Playoffs Grand Finals, when HLE turned the tables to become the Champions.

The rematch was due, but perhaps not everyone expected it to come into play in such a pivotal moment of the Swiss Stage. The series delivered, going the distance, with both teams going blow for blow like two top teams.

Game 1 started with Gen.G taking an early game lead but Hanwha Life Esports on the back of Delight’s engages won multiple team fights, displaying their amazing micro, taking a 1-0 lead in the series.

Gen.G answered back swiftly, equalizing the series on the back of the stronger composition, forcing the final game. The final game had a similar conclusion, with Gen.G’s movement across the map helping them secure another close game, securing another Worlds Knockout stage.

Tomorrow, the Swiss stage action for the 1-1 group goes live, starting with Fnatic taking on Top Esports.  Catch the action live on Twitch or YouTube.
