The twenty-three year old Sanitago “Daveeys” Ruiz passed away yesterday. The player recently celebrated his 23rd birthday on 2nd September. Daveeys played professionally for KRU esports and had a long career ahead of him. KRU esports declared the player's death on Twitter an hour ago.The cause of the death was decompensation.

After serving brief stints on LAZAR and Infinity, Daveeys joined KRU esports’ partnered team in 2022. The new KRU had a rough start to the season in VCT LOCK//IN. Despite multiple close games, KRU failed to win a single game in regulation and concluded their inaugural season without a win. Along with DFM, KRU was the only team that went without a win in regulation. Despite not winning a game, KRU came really close multiple times and their peers considered them a strong team. Coming to the LCQ, KRU made an insane run and went on to defeat Cloud9, Leviatan and Sentinels to qualify for the Valorant Champions 2023.

Daveeys was integral part of KRU's success and put up great numbers. At the Valorant Champions, KRU faced off against Paper Rex and Giants Gaming. Unfortunately they lost both the games and were eliminated from the competition. Despite the losses, Daveeys along with keznit had some amazing performances. KRU esports calls Daveeys a “a spectacular player and a first class teammate.” Strafe had the pleasure of interviewing Daveeys during KRU’s LCQ run. He was a spectacular player and a dominant Oper his team can trust to the very end. Daveeys’ funeral will take place in Argentina. Details for the same can be found below:
