In a move not that unsurprising, North American organization Misfits is set to part ways with Ava “florescent” Eugene. The star player has made a name for herself as one of the most hyped talents to come from the region. Despite her young age, she has already demonstrated remarkable talent and potential.

In one of her latest series, viewers were treated to “florescent” dropping over a hundred kills across the Bo5 series against Shopify Rebellion. Despite that, Misfits Black narrowly lost (3-2), placing third at the VCT Game Changers North America.

“florescent” is set to explore her options elsewhere according to a report by Dot Esports journalist George Geddes. He also reported that Misfits Black is now practicing with Gen.G Black Ethan “edith” Bryce Cutlip. At the time of this writing, it is unclear what lies in the future for “florescent,” however, it is likely she will not be exploring for long.

The recently-turned 16-year-old has shown herself to be the next upcoming talent in Game Changers. Her team’s bout against Shopify Rebellion had her drop over 100 kills and averaged the highest ACS, while In-Game Leading. Despite their near loss, they placed third at the event. Surely that could be called multi-talented.

Untested

“florescent” has yet to be given an opportunity to test her mettle against the best teams, having missed out on Game Changers Championship by a single map. Cloud 9 White and Shopify Rebellion instead represented North America at Berlin.

Having just turned 16 recently, “florescent” could be looking to make a similar career move as EMEA counterpart Mary.” Joining a large organization within North America would allow her talents to fully blossom on a title contending roster. The question remains whether she wishes to remain within the Game Changers scene.

Should she choose to, there are far more options in the predominantly male scene, to join a men’s team. Whilst the move would be unprecedented, there are few options for her to move up in Game Changers. With only two relatively large organization currently invested in Game Changers: Cloud 9 and Shopify Rebellion, it would take a full rebuild and more talent than the scene seems to have available at the moment to create another title contending team.

Strong Start

Since she burst onto the scene, “florescent” has shown a natural aptitude for Valorant. At the recent FaZe Smeag All-Star Weekend tournament, she played with and against multiple VCT professionals. Having played on popular streamer Jonas “AverageJonas” Navarsete’s team, she dropped 29 kills in the opening map against prominent figures such as “yay”, “ShahZaM”, and “trent”. They ended up placing third at the event, an impressive feat for their squad in such a stacked tournament.
