G2 Esports, one of the world's most recognisable names in competitive gaming, is stepping further into the world of original entertainment with the English-language global launch of its fantasy-action webcomic, Red Aura, on WEBTOON.

The series goes live on Saturday, June 6, under the platform's prestigious WEBTOON Originals label.

What Is G2's Webcomic 'Red Aura'?

Red Aura centres on Asa, a young girl with an unyielding ambition to become the greatest Nomad who ever lived. Set in a rich fantasy world defined by rivalry, perseverance, and the brutal cost of ambition, the series attempts to channel the same competitive spirit that has shaped G2's identity in esports over the past decade.

It's worth noting that this is not the series' first outing. Red Aura originally launched in Japan on LINE MANGA back in October 2025, where it was able to reach the #9 spot in the platform's New Series rankings during its debut weekend. The English WEBTOON release marks a significant expansion, bringing the story to fans worldwide.

Readers jumping in at launch will have plenty to work through straight away. Twenty episodes will be available from day one (15 free chapters alongside 5 Fast Pass chapters) with weekly releases to follow as the series works toward a planned 42-episode first season.

A Closer Look at Red Aura

The project was developed in collaboration with KISAI Entertainment, the studio behind webcomic adaptations of Avatar: The Last Airbender and The Beginning After the End. Japanese Art Director Runbel, who has worked on the previously chart-topping action fantasy Skill Master Levels Up, lent his talents to the visual direction of the series.

Red Aura was designed natively for WEBTOON's vertical-scroll format, and aims to push creative boundaries with at least one chapter that visually integrates music directly into the reading experience.

"The world of Red Aura is fresh and original, which made it really enjoyable to work on," said Runbel. "It was a lot of fun working with producer Daniel using camera work to create cool action panels that have never been seen before."

G2 COO Sabrina Ratih framed the launch as part of a broader strategic push into original IP. "Red Aura was created as a way to reimagine the ambition and competitive spirit that have defined G2 over the last decade," she said. "Expanding into original entertainment has been a major focus for G2, and Red Aura is only the beginning of what we want to build."

To mark the occasion, G2 creator and VALORANT streamer Ryan "Shanks" Ngo will host a live reading event, with further details to be announced.

Red Aura sits alongside G2's growing portfolio of entertainment ventures, which have included collaborations with Smiley and Solo Leveling, the launch of the G2 62 media house, and involvement in Gerard Piqué's Kings League. With a truly global fanbase, the organization continues to bet on storytelling to grow its brand.
