FUT Esports just pulled off one of the most stunning results of VALORANT Masters London 2026. The Turkish squad outlasted NRG in a 2-1 thriller at the Copper Box Arena, ending the reigning world champions' run in the Swiss stage and booking a spot in the playoffs.

Nobody Saw This Coming

Let's be honest: most people had NRG advancing without too much trouble. They're the defending world champions. They came into London as one of the most dangerous teams on the planet. But FUT had other plans, and they made sure everyone knew it.

The match was never clean or comfortable for either side. Every map was difficult, and every round felt like it could flip the entire series. That's the kind of game that keeps you glued to your screen until the very last second.

Three Maps, Zero Mercy

NRG grabbed the first map, Lotus, 13-11. Tight, but it looked like they were finding their groove. Then FUT responded on Haven, grinding out a 14-12 overtime win that completely flipped the momentum. The series was tied, and suddenly everything was up for grabs.

Fracture was where it all ended. NRG clawed back from a tough spot, mounting a comeback that gave their fans a brief moment of hope. But FUT held firm and closed it out 13-11. The reigning champions were eliminated.

Balanced, Dangerous, Relentless

What made FUT so hard to deal with in this series was the collective firepower across their lineup. s0pp, xeus, yetujey, KROSTALY, and sociablEE all delivered when their team needed them most. You can't game plan against an entire squad that is playing their hearts out.

NRG leaned heavily on Keiko and mada to be the difference-makers. When they clicked, the champions looked like champions. But FUT kept disrupting their rhythm all series long, and NRG never found the consistency that defines their best performances.

The Crown Feels Heavy Today

Losing in the Swiss stage as defending world champions is a tough pill to swallow. It stings even more when the elimination comes from a team that had just dropped a series to Vitality. NRG will head home with a lot of questions to answer.

For FUT, this is a massive win. They join the other EMEA representatives in the playoff bracket, capping off a remarkable run where all three EMEA squads advanced from the Swiss stage. They've already proven they belong at this level, and knocking out the champions only makes that statement louder.

The bracket won't be easy from here, but FUT just showed the entire tournament exactly what they're capable of.
