FURIA and BETBOOM Reach Thunderpick World Championship 2026 Grand Final
FURIA and BETBOOM will meet in the Thunderpick World Championship 2026 grand final on Sunday, October 18, in Malta. The $1 million Counter-Strike 2 event will end with a rematch of the Group B opener, which FURIA won 2-0.
The Brazilian side is chasing a second consecutive Thunderpick title, while BETBOOM has recovered from that opening loss to reach the final with three straight victories. Both teams earned their places on Saturday (October 17), with FURIA sweeping Aurora and BETBOOM eliminating Falcons.
FURIA's Road to the Grand Final
FURIA opened Group B on October 14 with a 2-0 victory over BETBOOM, taking Ancient 13-10 and Mirage 13-9. Kaike "KSCERATO" Cerato led the series with 40 kills.
On October 15, FURIA defeated Legacy 2-1 in the group winners' match. The team lost Cache 10-13 before taking Inferno 13-5 and Mirage 13-8 to advance directly to the semifinals.
FURIA then beat Aurora 2-0 on October 17, winning Dust2 13-8 and Inferno 13-10. KSCERATO recorded another 38 kills as FURIA reached the grand final with three series wins and just one map lost.
BETBOOM's Road to the Grand Final
BETBOOM had no room for another series defeat after losing to FURIA in its October 14 opener. On October 15, the Russian team came back to beat PARIVISION 2-1, losing Ancient 10-13 before winning Anubis 13-4 and Mirage 13-7.
The following day, BETBOOM defeated Legacy 2-1 for the group's second semifinal spot. The Russians recovered from a 4-10 deficit to take Nuke 16-13 in overtime, lost Dust2 11-13, then won the Mirage decider 13-11. Kirill "Magnojez" Rodnov produced 25 kills on the last map.
BETBOOM completed its comeback through the bracket on October 17 by defeating Falcons 2-1. After a 5-13 loss on Anubis, it forced a deciding map by winning Dust2 16-14 in overtime and then took Mirage to secure a place in the final. All three BETBOOM victories since the opening loss have gone to a third map.

Head-to-Head: FURIA Has Won All Three 2026 Meetings
FURIA has beaten BETBOOM three times in 2026, all by 2-0 scores: at the IEM Cologne Major in June, at ESL Pro League Season 24 on October 3, and in the Thunderpick group stage on October 14.
The latest meeting was closer than the result suggests. BETBOOM led 8-4 at halftime on both Ancient and Mirage, but FURIA came back to win each map. The grand final will be their first best-of-five meeting of the year.
