Following yesterday’s shocking accusation concerning Ava “florescent” Eugene, the former Apeks VALORANT player and Game Changers Champion has now issued a response addressing it. In the response, she categorically denied all accusations of sexual assault and claims the matter will be treated with her ‘full attention’.

“I'm aware of the allegations that were made against me and take them very seriously. However, I strongly deny any and all accusations of SA. I’m currently treating this matter with my full attention. I am also exploring immediate legal assistance to help determine the best way for me to proceed, both in determining what I can share publicly, and how to best go about clearing my name. I will provide an update when capable. I wish I could provide evidence for the public to see immediately, but I have been asked to refrain from sharing at this time for my own safety. I ask that you please respect the other party’s privacy at this time.”

Potentially Career-Ending

On the 29th of April, following a disappointing first split on Apeks, florescent announced her intentions to take a break from the remainder of the 2025 VCT season. Despite suggestions she may return to compete in the future, the spark of competition appeared greatly diminished.

However, the allegations yesterday (dated 17/05/2025) presents a new challenge to the former Game Changers player. Despite being the first to break the barrier – transitioning from the Game Changers circuit to the VCT EMEA circuit – these allegations may ensure she never returns to competing. Regardless of the outcome of this series of events, the stigma and damage to florescent’s brand may prove too damning to ever return to Tier 1 VALORANT – regardless of her wishes.

Update:

Florescent has now released a detailed document (on 23/05/2025) disputing most of the original claimant's claims with counter-evidence in the form of screenshots.

Florescent's document spends much of its length countering the original claimant's (Brick) claims and the latter half briefly addressing other claims that have come forth since the original surfaced. She caps off her document by iterating her desire to self-evaluate and potentially grow from her past experiences. Despite the shocking twists and turns of this short-lived episode, it appears we have found a - somewhat bittersweet - closure to this chapter.
