BLAST revealed its new tournament series, starting with BLAST Slam I, which is set to kick off in a few days.

The tournament will feature ten of the world’s top Dota 2 teams battling for a share of an impressive $1 million prize pool. Here’s everything you need to know about BLAST Slam I.

What Is BLAST Slam I?

BLAST has previously hosted several Dota 2 tournaments. With BLAST Slam I, the Danish organizers aim to cement their presence in the professional Dota 2 scene. This event also marks the beginning of a planned tournament series designed to elevate their role in the game's competitive ecosystem.

BLAST Slam I Teams

BLAST Slam I features ten teams. The first iteration of the BLAST tournament does not feature open qualifiers.

BLAST Slam I Prize Pool Distribution

BLAST Slam I boasts an impressive 1 million USD prize pool. Teams will earn their share of the prize based on their final placement in the tournament. The detailed prize pool distribution can be viewed in the table below.

BLAST Slam I Groups and Format

The inaugural BLAST tournament will consist of a group stage followed by playoffs. In the group stage, the ten participating teams will be divided into two groups of five. The group stage matches will follow a best-of-one (Bo1) format and adopt a king-of-the-hill structure. The group stage will last only a single day – November 26th.

The first-placing team in each group will advance directly to the semi-finals of the playoffs. Teams finishing in second place will move on to the quarter-finals, while third-placed teams will progress to the second round of the playoffs. Fourth- and fifth-placed teams will start in the first round of the playoffs. During the group stage, no team will get eliminated. You can view the groups below.

The playoffs feature a single-bracket elimination. Thus, there will be no upper bracket or lower bracket. When a team loses a series, they will directly get eliminated. All the teams will play a best-of-three series (Bo3) in the playoffs. The grand final series will be best-of-five. The playoffs will last a total of five days – from November 27th to December 1st.
