As we dive into the fourth week of the Esports World Cup (EWC) 2024, the excitement continues to build with thrilling competitions across multiple major titles. This week features the highly anticipated tournaments for Overwatch 2, Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (MLBB) Women’s Invitational, and the continuation of the PUBG Mobile World Cup. Here's a detailed look at what you can expect.

Overwatch 2

The Overwatch 2 tournament at the Esports World Cup features 16 teams from around the globe battling for a share of a $1 million prize pool, with an additional $50,000 cash prize for the tournament's MVP. The teams have been divided into four groups of four, playing a round-robin format with best-of-five matches. The top three teams from each group advance to the playoffs, with the group leader earning a first-round bye.

MLBB Women’s Invitational (MWI) 2024

The MLBB Women’s Invitational 2024 is the biggest edition of the game for women so far in its history, featuring 12 teams competing for a $500,000 prize pool. The tournament is split into a Group Stage and Playoffs:

  • Group Stage (July 25-26): Twelve teams divided into four groups, playing a round-robin format with best-of-two matches. The top two teams from each group advance to the playoffs.
  • Playoffs (July 27-28): Single elimination bracket with best-of-three quarterfinals and best-of-five semifinals and grand final.

PUBG Mobile World Cup

The PUBG Mobile World Cup has just concluded its group stage phase. The tournament now moves into the Survival Stage, where the 16 lowest-ranked teams from the group phase will battle it out to qualify for the Main Stage, which will take place in Week 5.
