Eastern Europe DPC has been going through some serious problems regarding teams recently. Now, the teams are under a new, serious allegation - match-fixing. Match-fixing allegations continue to be one of the serious issues in Dota 2.

Recently, before the start of The Spring Tour, this problem haunted the Chinese DPC scene, which caused Valve to step in. After careful investigations, the teams and players taking part in the match-fixing scandal get permanently banned from official Valve-sponsored events.

New Information

The latest information regarding the Eastern Europe DPC match-fixing allegations surfaced on YouTube from a popular Russian content creator Morf. His video consists of allegations and evidence. Later, the community translated the information contained in the video to let other regions catch up to speed.

The Information (Translated)

Morf worked with an undisclosed person to gain access to the ranks of the private Discord server known as The Red Book. Inside the server, people from Eastern Europe gathered to play Dota 2. Anton Monetin, a former coach from Winstrike Academy, was also on the server.

In the server, Anton bragged about match-fixing and betting. Morf’s associate got in contact with Anton. As the two parties became closer, Anton offered Morf’s associate a chance to bet on fixed matches, and they would split the winnings.  Anton had many teams under his influence and was gaining a monthly winning of around 200-300 RUB.

Anton also has both North America and China teams under his influence as well. In extreme cases, the players even cheated to guarantee that they could win. There was also a fully fixed tournament where five out of eight teams that participated were a part of the match-fixing scam.

Valve has shown no mercy to match-fixers and cheaters. As Valve’s been tackling cheating and match-fixing issues in Dota lately, Morf’s and his associate’s work will surely pop up on Valve’s radar so they could take this investigation further and take severe action if necessary.
