Hearthstone's limited-time Chromie's Recruitment Drive, from Across the Timeways expansion, runs from November 4 till 25, offering players a meaningful choice and substantial rewards for participating in Chromie's mission to recruit legendary heroes across time.

The Quest and Hero Choice

The event structure centers on completing event quests that culminate in selecting one of three alternate-timeline heroes. Players choose between Kirin Tor Kel'thuzad (Mage)Medivh, Master of Doves (Priest), or Stormbringer Magni (Shaman) to unlock their exclusive Hero Skin and a generous pack bundle.

The event follows a straightforward completion path similar to previous Hearthstone seasonal events, rewarding progress through completing daily quests and playing matches throughout the three-week window.

Complete Reward Package

Upon completing the event, players receive 15 card packs spanning multiple expansions:

  • 6 Across the Timeways Packs
  • 3 Lost City of Un'Goro Packs
  • 2 Into the Emerald Dream Packs
  • 1 The Great Dark Beyond Pack
  • 3 Year of the Pegasus Packs

Combined with the Hero Skin for your selected class, this represents incredible value for all players, particularly those with incomplete collections from 2024 and early 2025 expansions.

Essential Tips for Chromie's Recruitment Drive

  • Choose Based on Class Frequency: Select the Hero Skin for your most-played class. The other two skins will become purchasable after November 25, but pricing remains unconfirmed. Consider which class dominates your ladder play before making the irreversible choice.
  • Complete Early: Finish event quests before November 25 to maximize your time enjoying the selected cosmetic and access pack rewards sooner, which proves valuable during the critical early metagame weeks when deck archetypes stabilize.
  • Prioritize Older Expansion Packs: If your collection skipped portions of 2024, prioritize opening packs from earlier expansions first, as duplicate protection resets per expansion type.
  • Save Gold if You Want Multiple Skins: Budget 1,000-1,800 gold or real currency per skin if you plan to purchase the other two options after the event concludes. Reserve resources now rather than spending immediately on expansion packs.
  • Leverage Early Rewards Track Progress: The Rewards Track offers six additional Across the Timeways Packs within the first 11 levels, achievable with minimal XP through a few daily quests on launch day, providing extra collection value with minimal grind.

Aggregated Value For Everyone

Beyond cosmetics, this event delivers exceptional practical value. 15 total packs address legitimate collection gaps for players who missed previous releases, while the free Hero Skin choice ensures every player receives cosmetic value regardless of spending level. The three-week window provides ample time for players to complete event objectives without pressure, distinguishing this event from time-gated systems that punish busy players.
