Continuing the Reboot, the new Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II will be a direct sequel to Call of Duty Modern Warfare I, released in 2019 and will have the same premise as the original COD: MWII bringing back the same characters.

The new addition to the Call of Duty series will be available to players worldwide on 28th October.

 

What is Call of Duty?

If you have been living under a rock or are ignorant about anything and everything gaming but still are interested in reading this article, Call of Duty is a First Person Shooter Video Game franchise published by Activision.

Amongst the other popular premises the games are set in, the games are primarily set in World War II and Cold War eras and have been one of the most popular Gaming franchises worldwide.

Love it or hate it, You have to know atleast a little about Call of Duty. The last addition to the game Call of Duty: Vanguard released with Call of Duty: Warzone is a Battle royale. Since 2003, eighteen titles have been under the Call of Duty banner and an intense Esports Scene since 2006.

 

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II:

The new Call of Duty Modern Warfare II will be a direct sequel to the 2019 Call of duty: Modern Warfare Reboot. This will be the nineteenth addition to the Call of duty franchise. Developed by Infinity ward, the game will be released on Windows, PlayStation and Xbox. You can watch the trailer for the game here.

The game will return several Modern Warfare Characters, such as Captain John Price, Sergent Gaz Garrick, Ghost, Soap etc. It will feature new characters, such as Mexican Special forces Colonel Alejandro Vargas, Shadow company CEO Commander Philip Graves and US Marine Corps General Shepherd.

The game will occur in 2022, three years after Price forms the elite, multinational CT Unit Taskforce 141. Vargas will join the team as the new member alongside ghost, Soap, Farah and Gaz.

After a missile strike kills a foreign general, 141 is called to contain the situation and prevent further escalation while combating the terrorist organisation Al-Qatala and the drug Cartel Las Almas.

 

What will be the key changes in Modern Warfare II?

The new game will be based on the latest IW engine developed by Infinity Ward. The upgraded engine will feature a new material system, a new hybrid tile-based streaming system, a new PBR decal rendering system, 4k HDR and a GPU geometry pipeline.

The title will also feature the Ricochet Anit-Cheat system and require players to Verify themselves Via Phone numbers.

Modern Warfare II will introduce several changes to the gameplay, introducing multiple new movement mechanics and gameplay changes.

The changes made to the popular gaming franchise can be summarised below:

  • Introduction to water Combat: Instead of dying just from touching the water, Now, COD: MWII will make the water an interactable environment.
  • Added Vertical Manoeuvring: Dive and Ledge hang will be the new available vertical manoeuvring.
  • New Vehicle Interactivity: Players can interact in many different ways, including peeking from a window, destroying sections of a vehicle etc.
  • Multiple new Tactical Equipment, Lethals and Field Upgrades.
  • A new Weapon Customisation platform: Gunsmith.
  • Introducation to Warzone 2.0
  • New maps for Classic 6v6 and Warzone.
  • New modes Knockout, Prisoner Rescue, Invasion.
  • Introduction of Third-person Perspective.
  • The new Ricochet Anti-Cheat System.

These updates have brought major changes to the original gameplay of Call of Duty. It will be fantastic to see the game in action, especially in how the pros use the new game mechanics to 1-up each other with the CDL action starting just 35 days after the COD: MWII launch.

The game will launch on 28th October, and the players who have pre-ordered the game can play the game a week early. Let's buckle ourselves up for the new ride that is Call of duty: Modern Warfare II.
