After nine days of intense competition at the BLAST R6 Montreal Major, the stage is set for an epic clash in the Grand Finals. In the iconic Verdun Auditorium, Team BDS will take on w7m Esports in a rematch of the Esports World Cup Grand Finals. Both teams are vying for the coveted title of Major Champions in the birthplace of Rainbow Six Siege.

Team BDS vs w7m esports: A Fated Rematch

Team BDS: The Unstoppable Force

BDS has been the dominant force in 2024, establishing themselves as the benchmark for excellence. With victories in both EU League stages, a runner-up finish at the Manchester Major, and their triumph at the EWC, the French squad has been on an unstoppable march.

Leading the charge are Théo "LikEfac" Mariano and Josh "Yuzus" Pritchard, whose performances have consistently set the team apart. LikEfac’s tactical brilliance and clutch plays were instrumental in their EWC victory and will be crucial as they aim for back-to-back titles. Yuzus’ fiery display against FaZe Clan in the semifinals only solidifies BDS as the favorites heading into this match.

Key to Victory:

For BDS, it’s all about maintaining their synergy. If every member of the squad delivers as they have throughout the tournament, their dominance will likely continue, with the trophy firmly in their grasp.

w7m Esports: The Brazilian Underdogs

W7m Esports has defied expectations, emerging as Brazil’s shining beacon on the global stage. Despite an inconsistent regional year, their international performances, including a second-place finish at the EWC, have proven their mettle.

Gabriel "volpz" Fernandes has been a standout in this roster. And his perfoemances have been instrumental in their aggressive playstyle. This unrelenting approach propelled them to a flawless 3-0 in the Swiss Stage and emphatic victories over Spacestation Gaming and Virtus.pro.

w7m has managed to take a map off BDS in the first round of the Swiss Stage. If they could have the Europeans figured out based off one single map, it could provide quite a boost to their confidence and playstyle.

Key to Victory:

W7m will need to match BDS’s tactical discipline with their trademark aggression. Their ability to adapt and bring innovative strategies could be the edge they need to rewrite the narrative from their EWC defeat.

The Grand Finals: A Clash of Styles

This Best-of-Five showdown promises to be a tactical masterclass. The last time these two teams met in a grand finals, BDS completely decimated w7m in the Bo5 to claim the EWC trophy. BDS’s calculated and structured approach contrasts sharply with w7m’s explosive aggression. The stakes are higher than ever, and while BDS holds the upper hand in experience, w7m has shown they are no strangers to overcoming the odds.

Prediction:

While w7m has undoubtedly proven their worth, BDS’s consistency, depth, and proven track record in finals give them a significant advantage. If BDS plays to their potential, they are poised to claim yet another Major title.

Who will emerge victorious in Montreal? Will BDS cement their dynasty, or will w7m rise above and script a major upset? All eyes are on the Verdun Auditorium as we prepare for a Grand Finals to remember.
