In a stunning twist to the Counter-Strike landscape, Aurora have officially announced the signing of Eternal Fire’s full roster.

The move follows Aurora’s earlier decision to bench their entire Russian-majority squad, signaling a dramatic shift in direction for the organization.

A Team on the Rise

The Turkish team—headlined by superstars Ismailcan "XANTARES" Dörtkardeş and Özgür "woxic" Eker—will compete under the Aurora banner starting with PGL Bucharest. This marks the end of Eternal Fire’s independent run that began in 2021, a journey that saw them break ground as the first Turkish team to reach a Grand Final and qualify for Major playoffs.

“We are no longer under the roof of a Turkish organization, but we will continue to represent our country as a team whose players and technical staff are entirely Turkish. I hope this new adventure will be beneficial for all of us. Goodbye.”

- Fabre, Eternal Fire Coach (translated from Turkish)

Though still chasing their first win in the playoffs, Eternal Fire's consistency has propelled them into the top five in Valve Rankings. Their strong form has also earned them a Stage 3 invite to the BLAST.tv Austin Major.

Aurora’s Russian Roster Benched

This landmark signing comes on the heels of Aurora benching their previous lineup, which failed to secure a spot in the Austin Major European RMR. Despite a strong showing at Galaxy Battle STARTER, the team stumbled at the final hurdle during the BetBoom LanDaLan 2 closed qualifier.

The longest-standing members, Aleksandr "KENSI" Gurkin and Evgeny "Norwi" Ermolin, exit after over two years with Aurora. It remains unclear whether the roster will stay together, but with a #33 spot in the Valve Regional Standings, the core may yet find a new home.

CS2 Major Revenue Share Changes Are Pushing Organizations Away from Counter-Strike

Valve’s new CS2 Major revenue share ties sticker income to VRS and final placement, removing capsule‑style payouts and concentrating money among top finishers. The result: higher volatility for clubs that relied on sticker cheques, early roster cuts like Gaimin Gladiators, and a narrower field of sustainable CS2 organizations unless the payout model changes.
