Organized by AfreecaTV and hosted by the Afreeca Colosseum, The AfreecaTV Valorant League will kick off tomorrow, 5th December. The six day long affair features eight teams and a prize pool of $90,389.

The tournament will be a debut for multiple VCT 2024 squads including Sentinels, Paper Rex and Team Liquid. Let’s go over the details of the tournament.

AfreecaTV Valorant League Teams, Format and Schedule

The AfreecaTV Valorant League will feature a total of eight teams. Six of these eight teams are partnered VCT organizations. The rest of the two teams qualified via the Thailand qualifiers. These eight teams are drafted into two groups of four each.

The AfreecaTV Valorant League groups are:

These groups will play each other in a double-elimination bracket with two teams qualifying for the playoffs from each group.

The opening fixtures of the two groups are

  • Game 1 - Sentinels vs Paper Rex (Group A)
  • Game 2 - Full Sense vs DRX (Group A)
  • Game 3 - Fancy United vs Team Liquid (Group B)
  • Game 4 - T1 vs EDward Gaming (Group B)

The Playoffs will be a four team single-elimination bracket. In the bracket, the lower seed from Group B will play the higher seed of Group A.

The Group stage of the tournament concludes on the 8th, followed by Semifinals on 9th and Final on 10th December. You can find the complete schedule of the tournament here.

Where to watch?

AfreecaTV will broadcast the complete tournament in English, Korean, Thai and Chinese. Unlike other tournaments, the tournament would not be broadcasted on Twitch or YouTube the AfreecaTV’s streaming platform.

The tournament kicks off tomorrow at 09:00 AM GMT with the Sentinels vs Paper Rex game. You can follow the game on Strafe with livescores, latest news and more.
