T1 just put up one of the most grueling runs in League of Legends esports history. After showing up to compete in three tournaments in July 2025, T1 has played a total of 37 games in a single month.

Now that T1 have put an end to a frantic month of competition with a convincing win over KT Rolster in the LCK, the time has come to take a closer look at the team's unrelenting run through July.

T1 Give It Their All: Was It Enough?

There's no denying that the back-to-back World Champions got off to a rough start to the year in 2025. After falling short during the LCK Cup, missing out on First Stand, and dealing with controversial roster moves, T1 seemingly woke up just in time for what would turn out to be an incredibly challenging month of games.

Throughout July, T1 participated in MSI 2025 and the Esports World Cup (EWC) 2025 before starting their journey through the second half of the LCK 2025 Season. Between the three tournaments, T1 went on to play a total of 37 games across a single month of competition. That is, 1.2 games per day.

The team's exhausting run served to elevate T1 back to the top of the League of Legends world after a couple of disappointing months at the start of the season. Currently, the team is on a 5-game win streak, including consecutive game wins over Gen.G to put an end to their rivals' historic undefeated streak.

And yet, for all of their efforts, T1 now exit the month of July without a trophy to show for it. At MSI, T1 reached the Grand Finals, where they lost to none other than Gen.G themselves.

At the EWC, the team finished in 3rd place after losing to the LPL Champions of Anyone's Legend in the Semifinals. As for the LCK 2025 Season, T1 currently sit in 3rd place in the Legend Group, where they will look to continue their good run of form to secure a spot at Worlds 2025.

A Look at T1's Numbers in July

Given the incredible number of games the team played in a single month, it seems fitting to take a look at some of the most interesting stats to be drawn from T1's July run. Let's take a look at some numbers:

  • Game win rate: 62% (23-14)
  • Match win rate: 73% (8-3)
  • Most faced team: Gen.G (13 games)
  • Silver Scrapes: 4 matches (Gen.G x2, Anyone's Legend, CTBC Flying Oyster)
  • Silver Scrapes win rate: 50% (2-2)
  • Team total unique picks: 67 champions
  • Doran unique champions picked: 14
    • Most wins: Ornn and Gwen (4 wins)
  • Oner unique champions picked: 13
    • Most wins: Xin Zhao (5 wins)
  • Faker unique champions picked: 12
    • Most wins: Orianna and Ryze (5 wins)
  • Gumayusi unique champions picked: 15
    • Most wins: Jhin, Varus and Xayah (4 wins)
  • Keria number of champions picked: 13
    • Most wins: Neeko and Braum (4 wins)
  • Total number of kills: 582

  • Average game time: 30.30 minutes
  • Total minutes played: 1121 (18.7 hours)

A Historic Month: Calling for Change

The fact that T1 reached such a high number of games across a single month of competition is certainly not the norm in League of Legends. As an example, the former LEC squad of Rogue played a total of 29 games across the entirety of 2024, a number that pales in comparison to T1's 37 games in July alone.

The reason for the team's particularly demanding month comes down to the circumstances. There is no denying that esports schedules continue to grow tighter every year due to factors such as new tournaments emerging in the scene (like the Esports World Cup) or MSI turning into a double-elimination bracket format with Bo5s throughout.

T1's high level of play brought the team to deep runs at back-to-back international tournaments before heading back home to continue their search for yet another LCK title. This, coupled with the fact that four of T1's recent matches went the full 5 games, forced the squad to play more than 1 game a day on average for the entire month of July.

T1, however, did not stand alone in this matter. Teams like Gen.G (34 games) and Anyone's Legend (40 games) also had similarly exhausting schedules over the last month. The question now is: will such numbers become the norm, or will Riot Games take matters into their own hands to ensure players are given their fair share of resting time?
