Madrid Arena will roar today as Sentinels will face Gen.G for the Grand Finals title. The two regional champions will take on each other for the first International VALORANT title of 2024.

The Grand Finals day will also feature a showmatch showcasing VALORANT’s latest agent Clove. The showmatch features Mixwell, G2 Mimi, and Kyedae, amongst many others.

Setting the stage:

Our first competitor, Gen.G came back from a disappointing 2023. They retained only Meteor for 2024 and rebuilt it from the ground up.

The new squad had some disappointing results during the off-season. They later added DAMWON Gaming coach Solo to the mix.

Gen.G surprised everyone with the level of play during the VCT Pacific Kickoff opening games. They qualified for the playoffs via the playins. In Playoffs, Gen.G took down DRX and PRX to secure the Championship.

At Madrid, Gen.G defeated Paper Rex, Sentinels and LOUD on their loss-less path to the Grand Finals.

Their opponents, Sentinels, also have a redemption arc of their own. After missing International LANs for 2 years, they come into 2024 with a new leader.

Sentinels faithfuls were especially delighted seeing the team perform well during the off-season. Their efforts bore fruit as Sentinels made it to the playoffs despite being in a difficult group.

They played the most Bo3s out of any other team and defeated LOUD to qualify for the VCT Masters Madrid.

Sentinels' only loss during the event came from Gen.G in the Upper Finals. They will have a chance to exact revenge on Gen.G today.

VALORANT Masters Madrid Grand Finals: Preview and Predictions

The best-of-five game veto heavily favors Gen.G as the top seed in the fixture. Gen.G chooses the map played during the game.

The two maps vetoed by Gen.G will be Sunset and Bind. Sunset is a perma-ban for the Korean team. They have also chosen to ban Bind in all best-of-three’s and won the two instances they played the map.

Gen.G’s mechanical prowess is currently best out of all the teams. Their synergy is on top and their methodical execution and ability to overwhelm the opponents is unparalleled.

The win factor for Sentinels is winning their map picks. They have to maintain their composure and play the game their own way.

With the veto advantage playing a factor, Gen.G is favored in the match-up. The 73% Strafe voters have favored Sentinels in the match-up.

The game will start 17:00 CET. You can watch the game on YouTube or Twitch. Follow Valorant Champions Tour X (formerly Twitter) for all updates on the tournament. You can also follow Strafe for upcoming fixtures, press conference coverage, and more.
