If you know where to look, Counter-Strike maps double as interactive museums. Over the years, Valve has immortalized legendary, game-breaking, or ridiculously high-IQ plays from professional CS:GO Majors by permanently embedding them into the maps as graffiti and signs.

With the engine update and map reworks in Counter-Strike 2, some of these iconic memorials survived, while others were wiped clean to make way for a new era. Here is the complete breakdown of all player graffiti and map honors in CS history, including what stayed and what got removed.

CS2 and CS:GO Player Graffiti and Honors: The Complete Guide

Since the CS:GO era, Valve has embedded references to legendary tournament moments directly into map textures. These aren't just cosmetic flourishes; they're community-recognized landmarks that pros and casters reference mid-broadcast.

Disclaimer: With the transition from CS:GO to CS2, Valve rebuilt several maps from the ground up, and not all classic graffiti survived the upgrade. Some tributes mentioned in this article no longer exist in the current version of CS2. They're included here for historical context and nostalgia, not as a guide to what you'll currently find in-game.

Magixx's 1v4 Clutch (Mirage)

The first true CS2-era player reference belongs to Boris "magixx" Vorobyev of Team Spirit, honoring his mind-bending 1v4 clutch against G2 Esports in round 37 of Map 3—Mirage—at the IEM Cologne Major 2026 quarterfinals.

He closed out the round entirely through a single spray-down with his AK-47, staying true to the nickname "Boris the Butcher" and cementing his name in the Lanxess Arena.

Caster Hugo Byron's call has already become the moment's signature line:

"The Butcher with the cleaver cut down G2's hopes and dreams."

Valve immortalized the clutch with a tribute on the Market shelves next to B-site on Mirage: four jars labeled in Russian which roughly translate to "Tomato Dressing 4x," referencing the round's four-kill massacre. The Easter egg is a suitable nod to caster Harry "JustHarry" Russell's now-legendary broadcast line: "Boris did it bigger, Boris did it better."

Olofmeister's Burning Defuse (Overpass)

  • The play: ESL One Cologne 2014, Semifinal — Fnatic vs. Dignitas
  • Location: B Site, wall behind the default plant box

With the map tied 14-14, Olof "olofmeister" Kajbjer began defusing as a molotov landed on him. He held the defuse through the fire, completing it a split second before it would've cost him the round.

The "olofboost" Warning Sign (Overpass) - Removed

  • The play: DreamHack Winter 2014, Quarterfinal — Fnatic vs. LDLC
  • Location: A Site, near the truck and railing
  • Fate: With an Overpass overhaul that came when the map was introduced in CS2, the sign was removed from the game.

No boosting sign on Overpass

Olofmeister is the only player honored twice on the same map—though this one carries a wink of infamy. Fnatic's cheeky 3-man boost let olofmeister see over half the map from spawn, sparking a rules controversy that ended in Fnatic's withdrawal.

Friberg's "Via Adamo" (Inferno) - Removed

  • The play: General dominance across ESL One Cologne 2014 and early CS:GO
  • Location: On the right wall of Banana when entering from T-spawn
  • Fate: Kept through the first rework, lost in CS2

Adam "friberg" Friberg's total control of Banana earned him a permanent street sign: "Via Adamo" (Adam's Way). Like most easter eggs on Inferno, it didn't make the jump to CS2.

Fnatic's 4 AWP Setup (Dust II) - Removed

  • The play: ESL One Cologne 2015, Grand Final — Fnatic vs. EnVyUs
  • Location: On a wall near T-spawn on Dust2
  • Fate: Removed in the 2017 Dust2 remake

In overtime, Fnatic bought four AWPs and peeked mid doors together. EnVyUs's apEX walked into what became a firing squad.

Coldzera's Jumping AWP (Mirage)

  • The play: MLG Columbus 2016, Semifinal — Luminosity vs. Team Liquid
  • Location: B Site, wall behind the Van

Facing tournament point at 15-9, Marcelo "coldzera" David defended a B-site rush with a jumping, falling, no-scope AWP collateral that shattered Liquid's momentum. Luminosity forced overtime, won the Major, and this play is still argued as the greatest in CS history.

S1mple's Falling No-Scope (Cache) - Removed

  • The play: ESL One Cologne 2016, Semifinal — Liquid vs. Fnatic
  • Location: Under heaven in B-site on Cache
  • Fate: Removed in the newest Cache iterations

Oleksandr "s1mple" Kostyliev dropped from B Heaven on Cache and landed two consecutive AWP no-scopes—one mid-air, one from extreme range.

Dosia's 200 IQ Grenade (Inferno) - Removed

  • The play: PGL Major Kraków 2017, Grand Final — Gambit vs. Immortals
  • Location: In the pit in A site on Inferno
  • Fate: Removed in the CS2 Inferno rework

Unable to win a 1v3 retake, Mikhail "Dosia" Stolyarov threw a perfectly timed HE grenade into Pit right before the C4 detonated. The chip damage combined with the bomb blast wiped Immortals' saving players and their economy in one move.

AGO's Wolf Signature (Blacksite) - Removed

  • The play: IEM Katowice 2019 Danger Zone Showmatch
  • Location: Rooftop of the Tourist building, Blacksite
  • Fate: Blacksite did not the transition CS2, erasing the graffiti from the game completely

AGO Furlan and GruBy signature Blacksite

During IEM Season XIII World Championship, a pre-final showmatch offered a rare prize: a permanent graffiti for the winners. AGO Esports' Furlan and GruBy claimed victory, with Furlan clutching the final round against SPUNJ and jks by picking off both from the roof of Tourist.

Valve honored the moment with a permanent graffiti near Furlan's exact vantage point on the roof, featuring both players' autographs alongside a wolf, cementing their Danger Zone showmatch win into CS2 history.
