Wolves Esports Out Before It Even Starts: Entire R6 Roster Denied Visas for Salt Lake City Major

It was supposed to be their breakthrough moment on the global stage. Wolves Esports had just wrapped up a strong run at the CN League Kickoff, punching their ticket to the BLAST R6 Major Salt Lake City and setting the stage for their first Major appearance under a completely new identity.

Then came the news nobody wanted: every single player on the roster had their U.S. visa application denied. The team will not be traveling to Utah. They will not be competing. Just like that, all of it is gone.

The Post That Said It All

Wolves Esports confirmed the situation through an official post on their X profile, leaving no room for ambiguity. Short, direct, and devastating.

The roster denied entry is Wolves' new CN-based lineup:

  • Huang "ArFeng" Zifeng,
  • Tan "CPK" Bozhang
  • Yin "Capt17" Pan Long
  • Wong "DEMoZ" Chun Yin
  • Chan "Faint" Zi Keng.

ArFeng, CPK, Capt17, and DEMoZ all joined on March 30, 2026, with Faint added on April 30, just days before the visa denials were confirmed. A squad still in the early stages of building chemistry together, now robbed of their first shot at the biggest stage they had ever qualified for.

A New Chapter That Almost Got Its Moment

This CN-based roster represents a significant shift for Wolves Esports. After years competing in the Europe and MENA region, including back-to-back Six Invitational appearances in 2023 and 2024 where they earned over $200,000 in prize money, the organization made the move to China's newly established CN League for 2026. It was a fresh start with new players, a new region, and new ambitions.

That fresh start could not have gone much better, at least on the competitive side. At the CN League Kickoff, Wolves beat Four Angry Men 2-1 in the Lower Bracket Semifinals on April 25, before falling to EDward Gaming 0-2 in the LB Finals the following day. A third-place finish was enough to secure their spot at Salt Lake City. The work was done. The spot was earned.

Someone Has to Fill That Spot

With Wolves officially out, a slot at the Major is now vacant and organizers will need to move fast. The event kicks off on May 8, leaving almost no time for a replacement to be confirmed and prepared.

Typically in Rainbow Six Siege, when a qualified team cannot attend, the next eligible team from the same region steps in, though BLAST has yet to make an official announcement naming a substitute. Any replacement would likely come from the CN League pool, given that is where Wolves earned their qualification.

It is a bittersweet situation for whoever gets the call. Stepping onto the international stage is a dream, but nobody wants to get there this way. For the team that does get the nod, the pressure will be instant even before the very first round.

Bigger Than One Team

This is not the first time visa issues have disrupted competitive esports, and it probably will not be the last. International rosters traveling to the United States for tournaments face a bureaucratic process that does not always move at the speed of competitive schedules.

When an entire team gets denied, not one player but the whole roster, it signals just how fragile the logistics of global esports can be, even for organizations that do everything right.

For Wolves Esports and their players, there is no silver lining in the short term. The Salt Lake City Major was the goal, and that door is now closed. What the team does with that frustration heading into the rest of the CN League season is the only question left worth asking.

The hard work was real. The result, unfortunately, was completely out of their hands.
