The fourth week of VCT Pacific action started on 15th April with two giants of Pacific taking on each other. The week also featured the Korean and Japanese derby, with the week determining the second-top team of  Korea and the top team of Japan. The week's final game had two teams with 0-3 finally getting a win. While the games were intense, they all ended in a one-sided scoreline.

VCT Pacific League Week #4 Recap:

Paper Rex 0-2 DRX:

The best of VCT Pacific faced each other in the week #4 opening games. DRX is undefeated and hasn't dropped a single map in VCT Pacific. Paper Rex lost to Team Secret in week #2 but had a strong performance defeating T1 in week #3. DRX was still the favorite going into the match-up, but Paper Rex will obviously be the team's most formidable opponent.

DRX started their map pick of Ascent on the attack. Paper Rex had a tough time suppressing executes on sites. They adjusted to get three rounds in half, but DRX adjusted back to secure the first half 9-3. PRX reduced the lead to four, but DRX's defense held strong to secure the first map 13-5.

Paper Rex's Split had DRX's defense securing the first two rounds. Paper Rex attack answered back with three of their own. DRX adjusted well to Paper Rex's tactics to secure the first half 7-5.

Paper Rex secured the lead in the second half, But DRX, on the back of strong performance from Stax and Buzz, secured the second map 13-10.

With the map win, DRX secured their fourth win at VCT Pacific and continued their flawless victory.

Team Secret 0-2 Rex Regum Qeon:

After their loss to GenG, Team Secret was ready to bring it back as they faced RRQ. RRQ only won their first game in Week #3 over DFM. Team Secret is unbelievably strong and was the favorite going into the match-up.

Starting on Team Secret's Icebox, RRQ secured the anti-bonus round and used it to string multiple rounds. Team Secret scored four more rounds to conclude the half 5-7. In the second half, RRQ secured the map point early. Team Secret brought back some rounds, but it was too late, as RRQ secured the map 13-10.

RRQ started their map pick dominantly. The double duelist composition from Team Secret could not contain RRQ's attacks. Despite their best efforts, Team Secret only secured two rounds on their defensive half. Team Secret started to win attack rounds, but once again, the lead helped RRQ to secure the map and the match. With the RRQ move up in the leaderboard, and look poised to qualify for taking a playoff spot.

T1 0-2 GenG:

The Korean Derby was a decider for which team is the second behind DRX. Both GenG and T1 look strong. T1, unfortunately, lost to Paper Rex last week. GenG is the only second team in the league to stay undefeated.

Starting on Ascent, GenG's defense and GodDead repeatedly shut down Sayaplayer and T1's attacks. Paired with K1ng on Killjoy, GodDead, and GenG secured a strong 9-3 scoreline in the first half.

In the second half, T1 closed down the lead to four, but GenG's attack, led by Meteor and GodDead, helped GenG secure a strong 13-5 win on T1's map pick.

GenG's attack proved hard for T1 to hold off on Haven. Despite successfully shutting down Meteor on multiple occasions, GenG's backbone in k1ng, Sylvan prevailed and secured a strong 5-1 scoreline. T1 answered and brought back rounds to finish the first half 5-7.

For T1, a 5-7 scoreline could have been better, but it did not go as expected for them. GenG's defense proved too much for them to handle, and they fell to the Tiger nation losing the second map 5-13.

GenG continues its flawless run and faces its strongest opponent in DRX next week. T1 will have to fix their inconsistency and play RRQ next week.

ZETA DIVISION 2-0 Detonation FocusME:

After their week 1 loss, Zeta is on a redemption arc. They look stronger every time and are 2-1 up in the league. DFM are still searching for their first win in the league and brought in Seoldam over Xnfri to try to salvage the season.

Starting on Ascent, ZETA's attack was too much for DFM to hold. Despite their attempts, DFM lost the half 2-10. In the second half, ZETA extended their eight-round lead to nine. DFM forced the second round and won the force. They used the round win to secure multiple rounds in a row, mounting a comeback. DFM won seven rounds in a row. But ZETA's lead helped them secure the map 13-9.

ZETA secured another strong lead on Haven. Dep again came alive on Haven to help ZETA secure a strong 9-3 first half. This time, DFM could not come back in the second half and lost the game 13-5.

With the loss, DFM goes 0-4 down in the league and needs to win all the games henceforth to qualify for the playoffs. ZETA is on one loss and looks amazingly strong.

Talon Esports 0-2 Global Esports:

The week's final game had Talon and Global taking on each other. Both teams are yet to find their first win in the league. Despite the losses, Global has looked amazingly strong. Talon has shown signs of brilliance but hasn't won a game yet. For Global, the two India players debuted on the VCT Pacific stage.

Starting on Global Esports' Split, Talon had difficulty finding an opening in the GES defense and could only win three rounds despite their serious attempts. In the second half, Talon reduced the lead to four, but the GES attack prevailed as they secured their map pick 13-6.

On Talon's Icebox, GES's defense started strong, securing a four-round lead. Talon answered back with a string of five rounds. The half concluded with both teams on six rounds a piece. Talon won the first round, but GES forced back to secure the second and third rounds. Talon answered back with the back-and-forth starting. Unfortunately for Talon, GES won the last two rounds to secure the second map 13-11. With the win, GES secured their first win. Talon will still search for them in the weeks to come.
