Fast-growing esports organization Disguised (DSG) has unveiled their latest set of acquisitions. As previously suggested, Disguised’s owner Jeremy “Disguised Toast” Wang has followed through with his stated interest in joining the North American Challengers League for League of Legends. Yesterday, on the 1st of June, he unveiled the new DSG League of Legends roster that would be competing in the league.

The DSG roster as it stands now will include:

  • Aaron “FakeGod” Lee (Top)
  • Tomio “Tomio” Chan (Jungle)
  • Youngho “Young” Choi (Mid)
  • Brandon “Meech” Choi (Bot)
  • Tristan “Zeyzal” Stidam (Support)

Decorated NACL coach, Greyson “Goldenglue” Gilmer will perform as the head coach for the newly formed squad.

Short but Explosive Entry

Disguised is an organization with a very short history, having only recently began their stake in the esports industry at the start of 2022. Despite that however, within their short span, they have fielded teams in three different leagues and broken viewership records for both of their earlier squads. They are currently most well known for their Valorant North American Challengers League roster, headed by veteran FPS coach, Kyle “OCEAN” O’Brien. They have also fielded a Valorant North American Game Changers roster.

Not a bad team at all

Starting with the head coach, “Goldenglue,” DSG has picked up a veteran player and coach who has played for at least 12 different teams and organizations since 2014. Having played midlane for most of his career, he has had experience on teams such as Complexity, Cloud9, 100 Thieves, Immortals and Team Liquid.

“FakeGod” began his career only in 2018, but he has already played for some of the biggest organizations such as 100 Thieves and Cloud9. His most recent accomplishment is also his most impressive, having won the North American Challengers League Spring 2023 alongside former and current teammates, “Tomio” and “Zeyzal”.

Speaking of, “Tomio” has also had a short career thus far in esports, having begun in 2020. Despite that, he has swiftly climbed the ranks from Evil Geniuses 2nd to 1st Academy team before moving over the Cloud9 where he most recently won the North American Challengers league Spring 2023.

“Zeyza” meanwhile, is a long-standing veteran of the North American scene. He has not only played in the NACL for many years, but he also actually began his career as a sub for the main Cloud9 team back in 2016. Since then, he has played for several notable organizations, including Evil Geniuses and Cloud9 before ending on the Cloud9 Challengers team.

Meanwhile, DSG’s newest midlaner and botlaner also join as relative newcomers to the field. “Meech” began his esports career in 2019, however, did not play for any notable organizations until joining CLG Challengers back in 2022. He was signed to NRG Challengers for a month, however, due to the organization pulling out of the NACL, he found himself teamless before DSG. Lastly, we have “Young,” an up and comer who has spent his career thus far in the NA Proving Grounds. His big break came with Golden Guardians Challengers in late 2022.

Savior of NA League?

In a hilarious development of events, DSG has once more swooped in on Cloud9’s talent. This comes off the back of both Michael “nerve” Yerrow and Jaccob “yay” Whiteaker both joining DSG’s Valorant division after Cloud9. The trend continues apparently.

DSG’s League of Legends division will now consist of three former Cloud9 Challengers players, as well as two players from Golden Guardian’s Challengers and NRG Challengers, respectively. In the midst of the North American League of Legends drama, with 7 of the 10 previously established Challenger rosters announcing their departure from the NACL for the time being, “Disguised Toast” has recognized a unique opportunity.

With the departure of so many organizations all at once, there’s a load of prime North American talent all of a sudden finding themselves orgless. This harkens back to the start of the Valorant NACL, where DSG managed to forge a brand and name for themselves with the acquisition of forgotten talent in the Tier 2 scene. The entry of DSG could very well mark the entry of other content-creator led organizations in the NACL and potentially the LCS space, much like DSG paved the way for organizations like Moist Moguls in the Valorant NACL.

Disguised will next compete in the League of Legends North American Challengers League, which will kick start on the 10th of June.
