Dota 2 is a game which relies heavily on team synergy. Players often have to figure out which heroes pair well with each other. Nevertheless, individual skill matters too. With The Riyadh Masters 2023 featuring a $ 15 000 000 million USD prize pool, every aspect will matter for teams trying to get a slice of the massive prize pool.

Supports play an enormous role in the game; However, they often get unacknowledged and unappreciated, regardless of their contribution to the team. Without support players, cores will often be headless chickens running around the dark map of the game. Even though cores soak up attention with their fantastic gameplay, support players often do the same, but with no eyes on them.  As The Riyadh Masters 2023 starts in a few days, here’s the list of support players everyone should keep an eye on at the tournament.

Insania - Team Liquid

The captain of Team Liquid, Aydin "iNSaNiA" Sarkohi, is currently one of the top supports in the Western Europe region. During the laning stage, he often positions himself between his cores and the enemy without soaking up much damage and efficiently trading blows. Insania's hero pool includes Crystal Maiden, Disruptor, Grimstoke and most noticeably his signature, Oracle. Moreover, he made Rubick roaming support the meta in the 2022-2023 DPC Season.

Boxi - Team Liquid

The soft support of Team Liquid, Samuel "Boxi" Svahn, is one of the roaming supports on the rise. His breathtaking plays, perfect rotations and ganking capabilities make him a constant threat to the enemy team. Moreover, he also responds in time when his cores are in danger. He punishes out-of-position cores with his initiation, often securing a window for his team to take game-winning objectives. Boxi’s hero pool includes Mirana, Windranger and Rubick. Recently, his Clockwreck plays took the limelight in the 2022-2023 DPC Season.

Seleri & tOfu - Gaimin Gladiators

One of the massive parts of Gaimin Gladiators’ 2022-2023 success lies in their two supports,  Melchior "Seleri" Hillenkamp and Erik "tOfu" Engel. They are the pillars for the team during the laning stage. As hard support, Seleri ensures his safelaner gets maximum advantage out of the lane. Moreover, he always trades blows in his favour. Seleri’s signature hero is Io, but he is also known to play Enchantress, Rubick and Batrider recently.

The roaming support, tOfu, enables the cores with his perfect rotations. The hero pool of tOfu includes Disruptor, Rubick and Dark Willow. Recently, he also played Pugna, Lion and Techies.

Mathew

The in-game leader of Evil Geniuses, Farith "Matthew" Puente, is one of the supports on the rise in the South American Region. He constantly keeps the enemy on their toes by farming couriers. Moreover, he has a different greedier approach to the support role. Nonetheless, he enables his team by giving them vision with heroes like Spirit Breaker and Bounty Hunter. Recently, he expanded his hero pool to include Rubick, Techies and Enchantress.

Ceb

Although Ceb is a standin for OG, it is worth noticing how much of an impact he will have on the team. He is the former back-to-back Ti champion. Thus, he comes equipped with plenty of experience and a deep understanding of the game. His recent standins with OG have also found tremendous success. Used to being an offlaner, Ceb has a vast hero pool for the support role. Ceb’s support heroes pool includes but is not limited to Keeper of The Light, Io and Enchantress. He can also play Windranger either as a core or a support.
