Day 2 of The Berlin Major was for the lower bracket playoffs. The teams fought tooth and nail to hold onto their tournament lives, but unfortunately, some teams got eliminated. Here’s a quick action of things that happened on Day 2 at The Berlin Major.

Team Spirit Vs Team Aster

Game 1 of the series between Team Spirit and Team Aster was a complete Sumail show as he dominated the game with his midlane Windranger. At 37 minutes, Team Aster closed out game 1 on top of Sumail’s brilliant performance.

Game 2 of the series was a close one. As the game progressed, Aster’s safelane hard carry Alchemist became a problem for Team Spirit to deal with. At 43 minutes, a crucial mistake by Team Spirit allowed Team Aster to close out game 2 and eliminate Team Spirit.

Xtreme Gaming VS Team Liquid

The series against Xtreme Gaming was crucial for Team Liquid’s survival at The Berlin Major. However, Xtreme Gaming came prepared for Team Liquid’s aggressive tactics and game plan.

In game 1, Xtreme Gaming completely stomped Team Liquid. Even though Team Liquid came out on top after the laning stage, Xtreme’s midlane Ember Spirit and support Lion were a nuisance for Team Liquid to deal with on top of their offlane Doom straight up walking on Team Liquid’s face. At 51 minutes, Team Liquid tapped out of Game 1.

Team Liquid hits back hard in game 2 with the midlane Void Spirit and safelane hard carry Monkey King draft, playing aggressively and taking the game at 26 minutes. In game 3, Team Liquid drafted perfectly to the Xtreme draft and at 41 minutes, they closed out game 3, eliminating Xtreme Gaming.

Evil Geniuses VS Shopify Rebellion

One of the anticipated matches of the day was EG vs SR. When both teams first met at The Lima Major, SR came out on top, but EG had improved tremendously since the teams last met.

EG played marvellously in game 1, shutting down SR’s safe hard carry, Sven, in the laning stage. After the laning stage had ended, EG successfully snowballed their advantage into the midgame, where they took the aegis uncontested. EG was always a step ahead of SR, and eventually, at 29 minutes, SR tapped out of game 1.

In game 2, SR picked a surprised LC mid. Although SR was able to win mid, they couldn’t shut down EG’s safelane hard-carry Alchemist. As the game progressed, EG’s Alchemist became too much for SR to deal with. At 27 minutes,  EG closed out game 2, taking the series and eliminating SR.
