The Bali Major group stages have concluded. During the five-day duration of the groups, the Major showed the resurgence of some long-forgotten heroes along with some unique drafts and strategies.

The Western European teams reign supreme in the Major, with three out of four teams from the region taking the upper bracket spots. As Western Europe showed their supremacy, the drafts for The Bali Major shifted towards the Western Europe playstyles, and the majority of the heroes from the region dominated the matches. Here’s the list of the heroes that were stable at the Major recently.

Morphling

Morphling has officially made his return to the meta. Mostly played as a safelaner, Morphling has a 53.06% win rate in 49 matches. The hero is hard to kill on top of being mobile. Moreover, Aghanmin’s upgrade of the hero is perfect against most Agility heroes, like Medusa, Slark and Anti-Mage. In 146 matches, the hero got contested and had 97 bans.

Timbersaw

Timbersaw is another hero trying to make his way back onto the meta. The hero is currently positively impacting most matches it’s been played in. Although the hero used to dabble at offlane, it is more common as a midlaner in this meta. The hero has a 45.95% win rate in the Major. In 136 matches, the hero got contested and was banned 99 times.

Techies

The most annoying hero in Dota 2 is currently the top soft support for the tournament. Teams are picking Techies because it often secures the laning stage for their safelaner. Moreover, the hero scales well into the late game while offering stuns, slows and silence for skirmishes. The hero Aghanim’s upgrade is a great aoe crowd control. It has a 43.28% win rate at the tournament. Techies got contested 123 matches.

Pugna

Pugna, as a soft support, is becoming a meta in The Bali Major. When paired with the likes of Medusa and Storm Spirit, Pugna becomes a nuisance for most teams to deal with. It also allows the team to take objectives early, with its Nether Blast forcing early pressure. Pugna has a 55.53% win rate in 56 matches.

Medusa

Medusa dominated the early 7.33 meta. However, after receiving major nerfs, the hype around the hero fall off until DreamLeague Season 20. Players found that the hero pairs well with Pugna, and the hype around the hero began to build up again. Medusa offers late-game certainty if the game lacks ways to control the hero. Moreover, when paired with Pugna, the hero receives sustainable regen if not dealt with properly. Medusa has a 56.41% win rate. In 119 matches, Medusa got banned in 80.

Broodmother

The spider has finally found its place in the current meta as an offlaner. The new itemisation of Broodmother now allows the hero for skirmishes. The hero also provides vision on the map with spiderlings. Broodmother has a 69.44% win rate. Broodmother got contested 111 matches and got banned in 75.
