Team Spirit had a long final day at PGL Wallachia. Their first series against Team Falcons went the distance and then Spirit had to go five rounds against their arch-rivals, Xtreme Gaming.

This is Team Spirit's first gold place finish since The International 12 and a sign that the team is getting back into their best form ahead of Riyadh Masters and The International 13.

It was a long day for the eventual champions, as their opening series was against Team Falcons, one of the most dominant teams of the year.

The MENA squad has looked unstoppable, winning BetBoom Dacha Dubai, DreamLeague Season 22, ESL Birmingham, and took silver at Elite League.

It was no easy feat for Spirit to take the series, and they were behind 20,000 gold at the 40-minute mark. However, two lost fights in a row led to a comeback for Spirit and they took the final game in 53 minutes.

After an exhausting three-hour series, Team Spirit had to go five rounds against the best team from China. The last seven times these two teams faced off, Xtreme Gaming won five while the other two were ties.

It was a back-and-forth series, as the teams took wins from each other. Ultimately, it came down to a decider 58-minute game 5 which saw Spirit take home the trophy.

Between the two series, Team Spirit ended up playing nearly 9 and a half hours of competitive Dota 2, an incredibly grueling day for the squad. Their efforts were well rewarded, as their victory earned them USD $300,000 and an invite to the next season of PGL Wallachia.
