In recent years, Michał "Nisha" Jankowski has made himself known as one of the best players in the professional Dota 2 scene. Moreover, he became the first Polish player to attend The International, as he qualified for it with Team Secret, through the DPC Season. Some wondered what Nisha's origin story is.

His unique playstyle has earned him the respect of many players, including veterans. Even the seasoned veteran Clement "Puppey" Ivanov has stated that Nisha is the best player he has ever played with. The player has secured multiple Major titles and secured top-three finishes in consecutive years at The International, both in 2021 and 2022.

It's no secret that the player’s rise to fame has left many fans in awe. Luckily, Team Liquid recently released a YouTube video. In their latest TimeLapse series, the team revisited the game where Nisha got noticed by Puppey.

Nisha's origin story began against Team Secret

Puppey once stated that he noticed the player's potential during their series against Nisha's former team, Team Kinguin. The player played exceptionally well during the series, leading Puppey to sign him up for Team Secret. Liquid revisited the particular series Puppey mentioned where he noticed the player.

Nisha's Origin began in a Perfect World series where Team Kinguin faced Team Secret. This was back in patch 7.07c, a very different game to what we have today.

For their line-up, Team Kinguin drafted four supports and a single core, Medusa. Nisha played the only core on his team and dominated the laning stage. His team took advantage of it and played a fast-paced game, taking it at 31 minutes.

There wasn’t much action in the game 1. However, the player’s farming abilities were exceptional. Moreover, Kinguin took a clean sweep against Team Secret in the series.

Accomplishments

In 2018, Nisha joined Team Secret. Many fans and players noticed his exceptional skills during his time on the team. Back then, he was a midlaner and would dominate his lanes.

He helped Secret to win multiple online Majors at the 2020 DPC Season. His contributions earned him the Esports PC Player of the Year from The Games Awards. Moreover, in the 2021 DPC Season, he helped them place third at The International 2021, and at The International 2022, the team earned the runner-up spot.

After The International 2022, he joined Team Liquid.  Although his dominant playstyle continued in Team Liquid, they could only secure a runner-up spot throughout the 2023 DPC Season.

At The International 2023, the team had a top-six finish despite showing promise in the early stages of the tournament. Currently, Nisha is a midlaner for Team Liquid, and the team has qualified for the upcoming ESL One Kuala Lumpur, which marks the official start of the new Dota 2 professional season.

It's an incredible tale of Nisha's Origin. From one incredible performance in a pro match to being signed by one of the biggest esport organizations in the world.
