Talon Esports, a notorious SEA esports team, astounds everyone with their marvellous performance at the group stage of The Riyadh Masters 2023. As the group stage concludes, Talon’s brilliant performance earned them a slot in upper bracket playoffs.

The team was in the same group against powerhouses such as Tundra Esports, Team Liquid and BetBoom Team. However, the team managed to put up a courageous performance, winning three series, drawing two and losing two. Their performance caught everyone off guard, as SEA is one of the weakest regions in the current DPC season. The 2022-2023 DPC season is dominated by Western European teams, with Eastern European teams sometimes stepping up for the occasion.

A Brief Summary

Talon is one of the strongest teams in SEA, but they are inconsistent. However, as Western European teams dominate the season, they could only secure varying finishes during LANs. The team finished third in their region in The Winter Tour. They made a deep run at The Lima Major, securing a third-place finish, just falling against Team Liquid. However, despite securing a third-place finish again in The Spring Tour, the team failed to make a deep run at the Berlin Major. They got eliminated by Evil Geniuses in the lower bracket round two. The team failed to get a ticket to The Bali Major, placing fourth in their region.

At ESL Pro League, Talon secured a 4th place finish at DreamLeague Season 19 but didn’t make it past group stages at DreamLeague Season 20. Nevertheless, the team makes it to The Riyadh Masters 2023 through DreamLeague Average Placement. They directly qualified for the group stages.

Current Records

However, the team’s recent records seem promising at The Riyadh Masters 2023. Nevertheless, their challenges will only get more difficult onward. They will face titans like Gaimin Gladiators and Team Liquid in the playoffs. In the playoffs, Talon Esports will have to break new grounds to overcome the obstacles that lie ahead. Their first challenge is up against Quest Esports, an underdog team quickly becoming a new fan favourite.
