The Esports World Cup for League of Legends has crowned its champion, and the glory goes to none other than T1. In a thrilling best-of-five series, T1 overcame Top Esports (TES) with a 3-1 victory, showcasing their dominance and improvement compared to MSI

Summary of the Grand Final games

Game 1: A rough start for T1

Top Esports drew first blood in the series, taking the lead in the opening match. With superior lane control and a standout performance from mid-laner Creme on Tristana, TES managed to dominate T1, securing a 23-minute victory.

The synergy between TES players, especially in the jungle and mid-lane, was crucial in this win, with Tian’s Ivern providing essential support and control.

Game 2: T1 strikes back

T1 bounced back fiercely in the second match. Oner and Faker's proactive gameplay turned the tide, dismantling TES’s defense in just 26 minutes. Keria’s Renata Glasc proved to be a pivotal pick, disrupting TES's compositions and allowing T1 to capitalize on their mistakes.

Game 3: A marathon battle

The third game extended to 38 minutes, the longest of the series. Despite TES’s early advantages and a quadra-kill by 369’s Renekton, T1 maintained their composure. The game’s duration was a testament to the strategic respect both teams had for each other’s compositions. Eventually, T1’s patience paid off, seizing an opening created by a misplay from TES’s top-laner.

Game 4: Closing the Series

In the final match, Oner once again proved to be a key player, effectively countering every move by TES’s jungler, Tian. Keria’s performance on Rakan was spectacular, making decisive plays that disrupted TES's coordination. T1 secured their victory in 29 minutes, ending the series and claiming the championship title.

Tournament MVP: T1's Faker

Faker, the first player to feature in the Hall of Legends, was named the tournament MVP. His consistency and ability to adapt were crucial in T1’s success throughout the tournament and excite fans all over the world for the upcoming tournaments, specially Worlds.

Community reactions to T1's win

The community’s response was overwhelmingly positive, with fans and analysts praising T1’s resilience and strategic depth. Many highlighted the pivotal moments where individual brilliance from players like Keria and Oner made a significant impact.

With that, we can safely say that T1’s victory at the Esports World Cup is a testament to their skill, teamwork, and strategic acumen. This triumph adds another prestigious title to their legacy and reinforces their status as one of the greatest teams in the history of League of Legends.
