Evil Geniuses Valorant announces the addition of BcJ and Ethan to the Valorant roster and reveals the plan to field a 10-man roster ahead of the VCT 2023 season. The team retained the 2022 Valorant squad and will add five more players starting with XSET BcJ and NRG Ethan.

Evil Geniuses Valorant - A wild ride:

EG is one of the oldest Esports organizations that are still around. The organization stepped into Valorant by signing Temperature, Aleksandar, Osais, Clawdia, and Potter and was the first mixed team. Soon, Potter switched to the role of Head Coach. The team signed Pho, Branted, Roca, and Boostio. The team was a big name in the Tier 2 NA scene but did not make it into Tier 1.

In 2022, The team released Branted, Roca, and temperature, signing Reformed, Yaboidre, and Jawgemo. With this roster, the team qualified for VCT Stage 1 Challengers 2022. But exited the group stage.

Soon Apoth and C0M joined the roster, and the team qualified for the Stage 2 Challengers and, for the first time, cleared the group stage to reach the playoffs and placed 5th-6th with the roster.

Unfortunately, the team made an early exit in the LCQ, and their Valorant Season ended.

EG prepare for VCT 2023:

With the organization's history and popularity, Riot announced EG as one of the five North American Organisations to be selected for Valorant Partnership Program. And since the announcement, EG had gone silent about their plans for VCT 2023. There were no reports, no player transfers in sight, and the meme of how EG does not know they are in the Valorant Premier League was born.

Yesterday finally announced the addition of Ethan and BcJ to their existing roster in an official tweet.

The video also explained EG's plan to field a 10-man roster for VCT 2022, which was no surprise as they did something similar in CSGO, fielding a 15-man CSGO roster.

How will EG Fare in 2023?

Still guided by Head Coach Potter, one of the most legendary female Esports players in NA and the world, EG's young squad will benefit from the veteran Ethan and the LAN experience of BcJ. Ethan and BcJ are star flex players and have proved themselves on the international stage. The experience brought by them will be precious to the young EG Valorant team.

With potter coaching, the experience of Ethan and BcJ, the squad's firepower, and C0M being a young and upcoming IGL, the EG squad has a high ceiling going into 2023. There are three more players to be announced by EG, but the organization does seem to have a plan, and it'd be fun to see the implementation of a 10-man roster.

The Initial EG Valorant Roster going into VCT 2023 will be:

  •  Kelden "Boostio" Pupello
  •  Ethan "Ethan" Arnold
  •  Brendan "BcJ" Jensen
  •  Corbin "C0M" Lee
  •  Vincent "Apoth" Le
  •  Jeffrey "Reformed" Lu
  •  Alexander "jawgemo" Mor
  •  Christine "potter" Chi (Head coach)
  •  Jimmy "LiN" Lin (Assistant coach)

EG plans to add three more players to the roster and will experiment until they find their perfect fit going into the VCT 2023 Kickoff Tournament.
