Former Counter-Strike professional Fredrik "roeJ" Jørgensen has revealed the astonishing amount of money he made from sticker sales during his career. In a recent podcast appearance, roeJ stated that he earned between $600,000 and $900,000 solely from in-game sticker revenue.

The Impact of Major Success and Favorable Revenue Splits

RoeJ attributed his lucrative sticker sales income to a combination of factors. The popularity of the Majors he attended and the favorable revenue split he received from his teams, particularly Copenhagen Flames, played significant roles. He noted that Copenhagen Flames gave him and his teammates 14.5% each of the overall sticker money.

"We were very lucky with our timing in Flames, and that Flames was such a great organization... I’ve played at four Majors now, and I think I made somewhere between 4-6 million DKK (≈$600,000-$900,000) just from stickers. That’s not including salary or prize money—just pure sticker earnings" - roeJ

He highlighted the Antwerp Major as particularly profitable, estimating that he earned around 1.8 million kroner (approximately $290,000) from that event alone.

Sticker Sales Dwarfs Prize Winnings

RoeJ's revelation about his sticker earnings highlights the immense value teams place on qualifying for Counter-Strike Majors. The financial incentive extends far beyond tournament prize pools, with sticker sales offering potentially life-changing windfalls for players and organizations.

RoeJ's $600,000 to $900,000 from sticker sales alone dwarfed his career prize money of $326,663, underscoring the importance of Major qualifications. The Paris Major in 2023 demonstrated the staggering potential of sticker revenue, with teams earning an average of $4.5 million each from a total exceeding $110 million.

This financial landscape transformed competitive Counter-Strike scene, where Major qualifications became a primary goal for teams at all levels, influencing strategies, transfers, and organizational investment. The potential for sticker earnings offer a unique opportunity for players and teams to secure their financial future through in-game item sales.

CS2 Major Revenue Share Changes Are Pushing Organizations Away from Counter-Strike

Valve’s new CS2 Major revenue share ties sticker income to VRS and final placement, removing capsule‑style payouts and concentrating money among top finishers. The result: higher volatility for clubs that relied on sticker cheques, early roster cuts like Gaimin Gladiators, and a narrower field of sustainable CS2 organizations unless the payout model changes.
