The North American player Quinn "Quinn" Callahan has had an exceptional season with his new team, the Gaimin Gladiators. He has achieved great heights and has even been nominated for the Esports Player of the Year 2023 Award.

Unfortunately, his past toxic behaviour has caught up with him. However, Quinn has taken responsibility for his actions and issued a public apology on X (formerly known as Twitter).

Read here and here for other examples of Quinn's toxic behaviour.

Every Action Has Consequences

Before joining Gaimin Gladiators, Quinn was known for making mentally abusive comments towards other players in the game. He would use statements like "disgrace to the human race" and "not human."

However, the professional community would often take his insults lightly, assuming he did not mean them and that everyone has bad days.

Despite this, the community began to call out the player for his toxic behaviour multiple times. Recently, a post surfaced in the community pointing fingers at other talents who worked alongside him and tolerating his behaviour. In response, Quinn released a statement to address the issue and end the dismay.

The Apology

In his statement, the Gaimin Gladiator’s midlaner reflects his toxicity.

The player expressed his sincere apologies for his past actions. He also stated his past in-game behaviour was “ highly unacceptable” and “ pretty gross”, as most of his actions have re-surfaced.

The player admitted he has his own insecurities, which caused him to behave the way he behaves in pubs.

“Most of it comes from my own insecurities and things I don’t like about myself that I am too immature to tackle in the heat of a pub, so I push that out onto other people, which is neither deserved nor okay.”

He also tried to clear his colleagues' names as they privately brought up his behavioural issues to him in the past.

“Your favourite casters, talent, my org and other people in the scene who haven't publicly disowned me does not make them evil nor complicit in the stuff I've done and said. Many of these parties have said stuff to me in private, to try to get me to change my behaviour.”

The player promised to work on himself and apologized to those impacted by their words.

“ Massive apology goes out to everyone I've hurt directly with my words and people I've stressed out or inadvertently hurt by virtue of them being near me. I'll be working on myself in the future and changing things for the better. Sorry again to everyone.”

Moving Onwards

Besides his skills, Quinn has always been known for his toxicity. At The Riyadh Masters 2023, his team, Gaimin Gladiators, even made content addressing the issue.

Some fans in the community found his toxic behaviour entertaining. However, there are always consequences to his actions. Quinn made a wise decision by joining Gaimin Gladiators, which will raise his reputation as the team wins more trophies.

Nevertheless, he must acknowledge his past mistakes and be cautious as he strives for success in the competitive scene. His past behaviour could undermine his newfound reputation.
