Last night, all three leagues concluded with the regions crowning the inaugural champion of VCT Leagues worldwide. At VCT Pacific, the two top dogs of Asia, DRX and Paper Rex, took on each other in a thrilling best-of-five series. The series saw both teams push each other to the limit, but Paper Rex was the last standing. The final game of the VCT Pacific league gave us the first champion of Asia Pacific. Let’s recap the exhilarating game played between the two Asian regals.

VCT Pacific League Playoffs Grand Finals Recap:

PRX was the second seed coming into the playoffs behind DRX. Both teams won their respective Upper Semifinals. Paper Rex took down DRX 2-0 in the Upper Finals, sending the Korean Dragons to the lower bracket. DRX won over T1 in an intense game to secure a revenge match over their Pacific brethren.

Map Veto:

Paper Rex banned Haven and Split as the upper seed of the Grand finals and picked Fracture as the first map. DRX picked Ascent, PRX picked Lotus, DRX picked Pearl, and Bind was left as a decider.

DRX scores the first point:

On PRX’s map pick, DRX’s attacks seemed flawless. Despite winning the pistol round, Paper Rex could not hold DRX’s neon-led attack. DRX’s strong attack helped them secure a strong 9-3 lead on the first map. Paper Rex looked convincing in the second half, but they could not win the gun rounds. Eventually, they dropped the first map 6-13 to DRX.

Despite the initiative from the PRX players, DRX’s defense held strong to tie the half. In the second half, PRX’s defense secured map points but could not convert them into a map win. DRX won the last two rounds in the second half to force overtime. Rounds were exchanged in the overtime, but DRX came out on top to extend the map’s lead to 2-0.

In the second half, PRX’s double-duelist attack overwhelmed DRX, and PRX answered back with their own map.
