OG released a surprising announcement today, with their second Dota 2 lineup. The new roster consists of five established Peruvian players and will compete solely in South America.

OG has clarified that their new roster will not replace their European squad. Instead, the two lineups will compete in separate regions, as part of OG's efforts to invest in local communities.

The new LATAM squad brings together some of the best talents in South America under one banner. Héctor "K1" Rodríguez is perhaps the best carry in the region, with five appearances at The International. His stint with Beastcoast in 2023 dominated the region. He sometimes gets a little too focused on farming but overall, OG can't ask for a better carry.

Gonzalo "DarkMago" Herrera brings another se of accolades to the squad. His reached top six at The International 2022, the highest placement for any South American team at the event. Similar to K1, during 2022, DarkMago ruled South America as part of Thunder Awaken.

Joel "MoOz" Ozambela will be leading the squad as their in-game captain and hard support. MoOz has nearly a decade of competitive experiences, with multiple appearances on the biggest stages, such as The International, Riyadh, and Majors.

In terms of talent, OG.LATAM has plenty of it. But the lineup isn't without flaws. K1 can get hyper focused on farming and occasionally abandons his team while they take critical teamfights. DarkMago is an incredible midlaner, but his hero pool is somewhat limited to Tiny and Mars. And overall, South America hasn't had much success recently, apart from winning PGL Wallachia recently.

We're looking forward to seeing how far the new squad can go. Not only does South America need a new power house, but OG has also strugguled recently. A successful latin lineup would do much to boost both the region and the orginization moving forward.
