LCS 2024 Spring Changes

This news follows after a drastic and unexpected change within the community with the departure of Golden Guardians and Evil Geniuses. Unfortunately, this change has left the LCS with 8 teams instead of 10, and has left fans wondering what the new schedule and stage format the LCS will be moving forward with.

The Current Confirmed Teams for Spring 2024 are:

With the reduced team count, anticipate four matches per day this season. To catch the kickoff of the upcoming LCS season, mark your calendars for a single weekend in January. The 2024 LCS Spring Split is set to commence on January 20 and 21.

Riot Games has announced they'll focus on holding most of their events on weekends. This move aims to make it easier for fans to watch and enjoy the tournament. They're planning a schedule that works well for viewers in different time zones, giving everyone more chances to catch the exciting  matches on Saturdays and Sundays.

Spring 2024 Schedule

Week 1

  • Saturday, Jan. 20
  • Sunday, Jan. 21

Week 2

  • Saturday, Jan. 27
  • Sunday, Jan. 28

Week 3

  • Saturday, Feb. 3
  • Sunday, Feb. 4

Week 4

  • Friday, Feb. 9
  • Saturday, Feb. 10
  • Sunday, Feb. 11

Week 5

  • Saturday, Feb. 17
  • Sunday, Feb. 18

Week 6

  • Saturday, Feb. 24
  • Sunday, Feb. 25

Week 7

  • Saturday, March 2
  • Sunday, March 3

Week 8

  • Friday, March 8
  • Saturday, March 9
  • Sunday, March 10

Long-time fans will likely welcome the return to the LCS Weekend Schedule. The previous weekday schedule posed challenges for those working during the week, making it tough to catch the games live. This shift back to weekends should make it more convenient for fans to tune in and enjoy the LCS matches without weekday work conflicts.

Riot's commitment to enhancing the viewing experience reflects their dedication to accommodating diverse fan schedules. With more details anticipated in January as plans solidify, the community eagerly awaits further updates and developments from Riot Games. Riot mentioned they'll share further updates in January once details are fully confirmed.
