After 1000 days, 578 maps and 83 tournaments together, the Kosovan eagle reaches its end and lands on its nesting ground.

In a surprising turn of events, Rigon "rigoN" Gashi announced his departure from the original Bad News Eagles five, marking the end of an era. Shortly after, Flatron "juanflatroo" Halimi and Genc "gxx-" Kolgeci  followed suit, signaling the disbandment of the squad.

Simultaneously, GUILD Esports announced they’re mutually parting ways with the Kosovan squad. And without any further comments from the organization, their future within the Counter-Strike 2 esport remains unclear.

Bad News Eagles often made headlines at Major events, with unexpected triumphs, famously taking down FaZe Clan in the BLAST.tv Paris Major group stage. Before that, they successfully qualified to the PGL Antwerp Major from the open qualifier up to the Legends Stage.

With an unorthodox playstyle and an underdog story, Bad News Eagles became favorites amongst fans, peaking in popularity while capturing hearts.

Consequently, they were picked up by the British organization; GUILD in November 2023. Unfortunately, things went off rail for the squad as they couldn’t find their footing so far in Counter-Strike 2.

In an emotional farewell, “rigoN” who was the first to leave the Kosovan squad shared his last words in a heartfelt post on X.

“Saying goodbye to you is harder for me than I can put into words.”

“You are more than just teammates to me - you are friends who have become my family. Even if I choose a different path now, I will always carry the memories and experiences we shared together in my heart.” - rigoN on X.

CS2 Major Revenue Share Changes Are Pushing Organizations Away from Counter-Strike

Valve’s new CS2 Major revenue share ties sticker income to VRS and final placement, removing capsule‑style payouts and concentrating money among top finishers. The result: higher volatility for clubs that relied on sticker cheques, early roster cuts like Gaimin Gladiators, and a narrower field of sustainable CS2 organizations unless the payout model changes.
