Finn “Finn” Wiestål has been officially confirmed by Rogue to be re-joining their League of Legends roster after 3 years away from the organization.

Finn most recently played for Astralis before the Danish organization departed from the LEC at the end of the 2023. Astralis sold their spot to Karmine Corp during the off-season, leaving all 5 players on the roster and the coach as free agents.

Finn will be replacing Mathias “Szygenda” Jensen after the latter played under the Rogue banner for a split in 2024.

The move was first reported by Alejandro Gomis

The Cycle Completes Itself: Finn has Returned

Finn originally joined the Rogue organization back in December 2018. However, he did not immediately join the main roster. Instead, he was first part of their Academy roster.  Known as Rogue EC, the roster was fairly stacked with future notable talents; including Kacper “Inspired” Słoma and Emil “Larssen” Larsson among others.

Finn’s return to Rogue also reunites him with former teammate Larssen, with whom he rose up together with.

After competing for a year, they were promoted to the main roster, where that lineup delivered fairly strong results across the year, even reaching both Playoffs for the year, and qualifying for Worlds 2020.

Since then, Finn has had stints in North America on CLG, as well as Excel and Astralis in the LEC.

Finn’s latest most relevant placement came in 2023, where after a fairly poor Winter Split, Astralis surprised many by finishing 2nd in the Spring regular season. Sadly, they were unable to convert in the Spring Groups, falling just shy of Playoffs in 5th place.

The Return of Rogue to the LEC

Rogue initially ceased the use of the brand after partnering with streamer-formed organization KOI for 2023. The ‘return’ of Rogue, or rather a return to the beloved brand has sat well with many long-time LEC fans.

Rogue ended the Winter Split in 9th place, just ahead of Karmine Corp. This marks the second poorest performance by the organization. The worst came in 2019 during Rogue’s debut year, with them finishing 10th place in the LEC Spring Split.

Rogue LEC Spring 2024 Starting Lineup:

  • Top Lane: Finn “Finn” Wiestål
  • Jungle: Mark “Markoon” van Woensel
  • Mid Lane: Emil “Larsson” Larssen
  • AD Carry: Markos “Comp” Stamkopoulos
  • Support: Théo “Zoelys” Le Scornec
  • Head Coach: Simon fredy122” Payne
