With the start of the Fall Split Major just a few days away, fans will be turning their attention to Rotterdam and all the teams taking part. That also means analyzing which strategies are going to come out on top. Of course, a huge part of those strategies is going to come in the form of the cars!

Don’t be fooled, Rocket League certainly steers clear of any pay to win content in their game. But the different ways cars can be used to build the best strategy play a really key role in any team’s success.

Why are cars important during the Fall Split Major?

Rocket League is a game where players will need to rely on pure talent and skill to get to the very top. It’s not a case of earning or even purchasing the best cars in the game to win, although there will certainly have been some teams on this road to Rotterdam who wished it was that simple! But while all of the cars in game have the same stats, that’s not all that’s at play.

There are some minor differences between cars. In fact, each car has a slightly different hitbox, including the height, width and length. In a game that really focuses on hitting the ball in a very precise way to score goals, this can make all the difference.

Common cars at the Fall Split Major

Everyone has their favorite cars in Rocket Leagues and pros are seemingly no different. Here are some of the top cars you can expect to see at the Fall Split Major:

Octane

We all know it but it’s a classic for a reason! As one of the oldest and most identifiable Rocket League cars, the Octane is used by a huge majority of pro players. Introduced way back in season 1, the Octane has one of the most balanced hitboxes out there.

Fennec

This car uses the same hitbox as Octane, which is probably the main reason why it’s so popular. It’s not uncommon to see multiple Fennecs in a tournament due to the genuine lack of flaws.

Batmobile

While it may have fallen a little out of favor in recent years, the Batmobile still makes itself known. As one of the longest cars in the game, it’s perfect for those pro players who prefer the long edges of the Plank hitbox.

Teams competing - the best of this year’s squads

The Fall Split Major is actually the first major event of the new season of Rocket League. It comes just a few weeks after the World Championships as well as the end of the collegiate Rocket League season.

This Major will see 16 teams from around the world competing, including some very familiar faces:

  • Team Liquid
  • FaZe Clan
  • G2 Esports
  • Team Secret
  • Moist Esports

And that’s just to name a few! Regardless of your choice of team, fans will be in for a treat at the Fall Split Major. Remember, the whole event kicks off on December 8th, with the finals taking place on December 11th.
