World of Warcraft's housing feature arrives December 2, with cross-game cosmetics waiting trough the Welcome Home achievement, which will unlock exclusive rewards across StarCraft II, Overwatch 2 and Hearthstone. Honestly, it's one of the best ecosystem incentives Blizzard has offered in years.

How to Get WoW Welcome Home Achievement

Getting the WoW Welcome Home achievement is genuinely simple. You'll need to pre-purchase the Midnight expansion for $50 USD to access housing early. Once you're in, complete the housing tutorial quest and claim your first property, either solo or with your guild. The moment you move in, Welcome Home pops. That's it. Your cosmetics unlock automatically across all three games through your Battle.net account.

One interesting thing here: Blizzard didn't gate this behind endgame content or competitive rankings. New players can grab Welcome Home as quickly as veterans, which means the cosmetic pipeline opens immediately.

Overwatch 2's Xal'atath Symmetra Legendary Skin

Overwatch 2 players will get the Xal'atath Symmetra legendary skin, redesigned around the expansion's main antagonist. Beyond the skin itself, you're receiving a spray, name card, and player icon as a complete cosmetic suite.

Hearthstone: Card Back Plus Event Card Rewards

Hearthstone's reward structure combines cosmetics with gameplay. Players unlock the Hearth & Home card back for collection purposes and access the limited-time "Welcome to the Neighborhood!" event. That event includes an epic card you can actually earn and play, not just a cosmetic throwaway.

StarCraft II: Faction Console Skins for Competitive Play

StarCraft II's integration give players Horde and Alliance console skins: interface customizations that let you personalize your UI layer without affecting gameplay clarity.

When Can You Earn WoW Welcome Home Achievement

Housing early access begins December 2, 2025 for Midnight pre-purchasers. The full Midnight expansion launches March 2, 2026. That's roughly four months, plenty of time to establish a home, earn Welcome Home, and claim your cosmetics before the expansion goes live.

The rewards sync immediately to your Battle.net account, making them available across all connected platforms. No waiting, no additional steps beyond earning the achievement.

If you're already considering the Midnight pre-purchase, the cross-game rewards effectively sweeten the deal. You're investing $50 for housing and a cosmetic suite that spans three competitive titles. Even if housing doesn't captivate you long-term, the cosmetics provide immediate value across games you're probably already playing.
