Another tournament concludes, and we return with the DreamLeague Season 27 Meta Recap to see how (or if) the mid-tournament patch changed things in the metagame. The lineup of most popular heroes is mostly the same, and Centaur Warrunner made a comeback in terms of win rate.

On the other hand, supports did not perform so well, and some cores took a hit in performance as well. Finally, we will once again check the list of most performant heroes who might take part in the formation of a new meta from now on.

DreamLeague Season 27: Meta Recap

As usual, our DreamLeague Season 27 meta recap will start with the Top 5 most popular heroes. Jakiro took fifth place with 37 wins in 63 matches. This performance lands him with the second-highest win rate, with 58.73% of matches won. Team Falcons was the most performant with Jakiro, winning 6 out of 6 matches while playing him.

In fourth place, Warlock had 29 wins in 66 matches and the worst win rate of the Top 5, with 43.94%. Centaur Warrunner was technically tied in matches played (66), but his 40 wins land him at the top of the list performance-wise, with an impressive 60.61% win rate. PARIVISION won 3 out of 4 games with Warlock and 5 out of 5 games with Centaur.

Second place ended up in the hands of Tusk, but with very different results compared to his latest tournament. This time, the walrus won only 33 out of 75 games, getting the second-worst win rate with 44% wins, only above Warlock. Team Spirit was the one to best take advantage of Tusk, winning 4 out of 5 games with the hero.

Finally, the most popular hero in the DreamLeague Season 27 meta recap is the Dragon Knight. Davion was picked in 81 out of 206 total games in the tournament. With 38 wins, he delivered an underwhelming 46.91% win rate, and OG used him the best way, winning 5 out of 6 matches with DK in their drafts.

Shadow Meta: Invoker Domination

The Shadow Meta is a trend of heroes that had good results while taking part in at least 10% of the total matches played. This time, we have a small but interesting selection of heroes, starting with Invoker. The Arsenal Magus won 18 out of 25 games, achieving an impressive 72% win rate.

Invoker is the only hero above a 70% win rate after playing at least 20 matches in the tournament. The remaining heroes that performed above 60% were Windranger (64.29%), Nature's Prophet (64%), Kez and Viper (62.50%).

Unlike previous events, this time the Shadow Meta favors cores heavily and gets validated by Centaur achieving a high win rate. If you intend to gain MMR in the coming month or so, it might be worth sticking to core roles or meta supports such as Jakiro and Hoodwink.

Closing Thoughts

Patch 7.40 dropping during the tournament seems to have had little to no effect in the results. Now that the year is about to end, teams will have a couple of weeks to enjoy the holidays and dig deeper into the hidden meta of the new patch. New rosters and new picks will definitely surface in January, forcing everyone to adjust expectations for the next big tournament.

We will be looking closely to report when new facets will come out for heroes that lost all of them, and which teams could have a better shot at becoming competitive after eventual roster shuffles.
