North American esports organization Cloud9 is finalizing its roster for the upcoming VALORANT season, according to reports. The team is said to be acquiring two new players: Jake Anderson and Dylan “runi” Cade, to fill the spots vacated by former players vanity and yay.

Cloud9 will be competing in the Americas international league, which is set to begin in just a few weeks. Fans of the organization will undoubtedly have high expectations for the new roster. Particularly given the pedigree of the players they are replacing.

Loss of Vanity and Yay:

Former in-game leader vanity had a long and storied history with Cloud9, and played a major role in transforming the team into one of the top organizations in the region. Meanwhile, yay was widely regarded as the best player in the world last year, and helped lead the team to a string of impressive victories.

While the loss of such key players would be a blow to any organization, Cloud9 appears to be taking steps to shore up its roster ahead of the upcoming season.

The New Guns:

Jake Anderson is a collegiate VALORANT player who has been competing since the beginning of the year. He attempted to qualify for the Challengers league in January as part of the NSIC roster. Which included players such as Lucas “fiziq” Blow and Chad “Oderus” Miller. Unfortunately, NSIC was unable to qualify for the league after being defeated by Team Major Academy in the first round of the lower bracket.

Dylan “runi” Cade, on the other hand is a former Soniqs player. Expected to take on the in-game leader role for the team. He played for Soniqs from April 2022 to January of this year. He brings with him a wealth of experience to the Cloud9 roster.

The Future:

Cloud9 fans will undoubtedly be watching the team closely. As they prepare for their first match in the Americas international league. The team is set to face off against Evil Geniuses on April 3rd. And it will be interesting to see how the new roster performs against such a formidable opponent.

Overall, Cloud9 appears to be taking a proactive approach to its roster management. And is making smart moves to strengthen its lineup ahead of the upcoming season. With experienced players like runi and promising up-and-comers like Jake Anderson on the team, Cloud9 will undoubtedly be a force to be reckoned with in the VALORANT scene in the months to come.

Is VALORANT Crossplay? PC, PS5, Xbox & Mobile Explained (2026)

VALORANT does not offer crossplay between PC and console. This means that PC players can only match and play against other PC players, and console players (PS5 and Xbox) players can only match and play against other console players. While there is no crossplay in VALORANT, the game does support cross progression, which means that your account, skins, and any other form of progress carry from one platform to the other (from PC to console, and vice versa).
