BLAST R6 Major Salt Lake City 2026: Teams, Format, Predictions and More

With all the regional leagues having wrapped up, the 20 confirmed teams are making their way to Salt Lake City, Utah, for what is shaping up to be one of the most anticipated events in the Rainbow Six Siege esports calendar.

The BLAST R6 Major Salt Lake City 2026 runs from May 8 to May 17, offering a loaded prize pool of $600,000 alongside crucial Six Invitational Points.

Tournament Format

The competition is split into three distinct phases designed to whittle down the field from 20 teams to one champion.

  • Phase 1 – Play-Ins (May 8–9):
    • 8 teams compete in a double-elimination GSL bracket,
    • Opening matches played as Bo1
    • All subsequent matches are Bo3.
    • Only the top 4 advance.
  • Phase 2 – Swiss Stage (May 10–13):
    • 16 teams enter.
    • The top 8 qualify for the Playoffs.
    • Play-In qualifiers slot into Seeds 13–16 depending on their bracket.

  • Phase 3 – Playoffs (May 15–17):
    • Single-elimination bracket
    • All matches are Bo3
    • The Grand Final is a Bo5.

Play-In Stage

The eight lowest-seeded teams kick things off two days before the rest of the field, and the opening matchups already promise some fireworks. Here's how the opening matches shape up:

Play-In Predictions

Don't let the seeding fool you because these are still some of the best Rainbow Six Siege teams in the world, and starting in the Play-Ins only means they're getting two extra days of competitive match experience while the rest of the field sits back.

From the upper bracket, LOS and Team Falcons stand out as the most likely teams to advance, backed by their depth of international experience and the firepower they carry in their rosters.

The lower bracket is where it gets messy. It could quite literally be anyone's game, but if we had to make an educated guess, Shopify Rebellion and ENTERPRISE Esports look like the teams best-positioned to grind through and punch their tickets to the Swiss Stage.

Swiss Stage

Once the Play-In dust has settled, the four qualified teams will join the remaining 12 directly seeded teams for a full 16-team Swiss Stage. The top 8 from this phase will advance to the Playoffs. Here's the full field heading into the Swiss:

Swiss Stage Predictions

This is where things get truly interesting.

Going 3-0:

G2 Esports and FURIA are the two biggest threats heading into Salt Lake City, and for good reason. G2 have made headlines once again by signing shaiiko, arguably the biggest name in European Siege, while FURIA are riding high after topping their regional league with a brand-new roster compared to 2025. Both sides look red-hot, and if their preparation holds, expect dominant Swiss Stage runs.

Going 3-1:

Not quite at G2 or FURIA's level, but more than capable of securing their playoff berths without drama. FaZe Clan, Virtus.pro, and Five Fears fall into this tier. FaZe deserve a special mention since they are coming off their second Six Invitational win earlier this year, which speaks volumes about their mental fortitude and ability to perform on the biggest stages.

Going 3-2:

These teams will need to scrap a little harder, but the potential is undeniable. DarkZero, CAG Osaka, and Falcons (should they advance from Play-Ins) fit this narrative, and with recent form on their side, a late-stage push into the Playoffs isn't out of the question.

As always, these are purely educated guesses. Please take them with a large grain of salt. Upsets are the lifeblood of international Siege, and the Swiss Stage has a way of humbling even the most dominant rosters.
